We just got back from 7 fabulous nights at the BCV. We had a one bedroom villa. We had requested a non smoking, 5th floor Epcot view. We got a non smoking, 5th floor pool view with a larger porch. It was great. No complaints at all. We were in #558 and just fell in love with the place. They put the Christmas decoration up while we were there. When we walked into our villa we had to laugh when we saw the framed map of Cape May County, NJ on the wall. That is where we live. The staff at the Beach Club was very friendly. We saw a quite a bit of Mr. Al E. Gator. We heard that they were trying to catch him because he is about 4-5 ft long now. We also counted at least 6 turtles in the canal with him. There is more drawer space but less closet space than BWV. I can't wait to go back. We are going to Vistana the beginning of March and BWV over Easter.

It's great to hear your nice report. We are leaving in 25 days for our first stay at BCV in a 1BR also. Your report makes me all that much more excited. Any suggestions on "essentials" that I must bring? I already have purchased laundry "tablets" and pre-measured coffee/filters. We won't do any cooking in the room, so that is not important to us.

I am glad to finally read a positive review of BCV - I guess all the reported complaints from fellow DVCers finally paid off!
We are booked at VWL for 8 nights in June 2003 and are considering the 7month switch to either BWV or BCV - either will/would be fine with us. I hope they catch Mr. Al E. Gator before we go. Glad you had a good trip:D Thanks for the report!

We leave next week for BCV's and I am so excited to hear that the Christmas decorations are already up!

Do you know if they did this at all the resorts?

Thanks,
Kelly

I do not cook but we do eat breakfast in. I take cereal, pop tarts and instant oatmeal with us. I usually take peanut butter and jelly, crackers, snacks microwave popcorn, sugar, tea and cubes of soda. Also, I take a gallon of bottled water and fill up small bottles for the park. We bought bread and milk there and it was not really to expensive, neither were the eggs or coffee filters.

When we left on Sat. the decorations were up at Boardwalk, too. There was a beautiful tree in the courtyard. I believe that most resorts are now decorated. Many of the stores in World Showcase were aslo decorated.

As I said we had a great trip. DS enjoyed kids games by the pool and they were very careful checking your wrist bands.

Also, if you check out the model units and own at BCV they will give you a BCV pin (one per family).

So glad to hear your review! It sounds great, we'll be there (never seen it) in April. Just a weird question though...if you check in in the lobby of the BC, what exactly does the staff at the villas do for you? I'm not used to deluxe resorts, we're moderate people;) , so is there another "check in" type of desk? Just curious. Also, how long of a walk was it to SAB from your room? We requested 5th floor too.

Okay I can't wait for my trip either and that is in 24 days. When I went last year it was a bit depressing with what had occurred. Hopefully this year it will look different. Chip1 I will be at BCV also in a 2 bedroom. See you there.....

By the way I keep spraying Pine to get into the Christmas Spirit

It is kind of a long walk to SOB but I was in the sunshine and did not care! We found if you cut through the solarium and went around past Cape May Cafe that it was the easiest way. The walk to EPCOT was a breeze.

The check in is the same as everywhere. They'll give you an info packet.

The self parking was pretty close to the villas. Near the pool. It was easy to load the car ourselves when we left. We also bought the BC/YC refillable mug and they will fill it everywhere in BC and YC.

Our DS still went over to BWV Community Hall and was very welcomed there. Jeff is an outstanding CM over there. He starts work at 2pm and is wonderful with kids.

I'm so glad you had such a nice time!

When you bought the refillable mugs, did you get the idea that you'll be able to use them on upcoming trips to BCV? Or were they only good for that one stay? I've read on these boards about the possibility that Disney might try to have the mugs barcoded or something in order to limit how long they could be used. But I haven't heard anything more about it for a while, so I'm just wondering. (Seems like barcoding would be a nightmare for Disney, IMHO.)

Thanks for the good upbeat trip report! :D

I'm kind of afraid to answer the mug question. Nothing was said about barcoding and many people were using mugs from previous trips.

That's okay! That's all I was wondering. It sounds like nothing has changed regarding using mugs on future trips to the same resort. That works for me! :D

Thanks for the quick reply! :jester:

As far as an upbeat report, I was on vacation at Disney. I would not let things ruin my vacation. The water pressure did stink and that was the most negative thing about the trip, so it took a little longer to shower but it didn't bother me. I did not care that is was not the view I requested. I had a view of the pool and a gator. It was cool. I love being on vacation and being a DVC member is something I am very thankful for.

Welcome Back! I am glad that you had a good trip!

How was the noise level at the quiet pool? Our experience at Disney resorts is that the quiet pool sometimes is not so quiet at night after the main pool closes.

The villas pool was very quiet. A few kids splashing once in a while, nothing more than that. The quiet pool for the Beach Club had a little more activity in the evenings. We found the BCV to be
very quiet and relaxing. In case I did not make myself clear, I love it there.
