We just came back from another great time in Disney (we figure about 15 times in 20 years), a few random thoughts from our trip:

BCV- we own BWV (1999) but really like the difference at the BCV, very quiet at night. I was worried that we were checking in at 8 pm on a Saturday, but we ended up with a 5th floor room, check in was easy, and the room was clean. We had a one bed-room, and for four of us we also brought a blow up mattress so everyone was happy and that worked out very well.

DDP- we went with my 2 DD 14 and 16. We paid for 7 days of DDP at $1100. We kept track of what we would have spent, $1550 (with 12 snacks and 3 counter meals left). We all gained a few pounds. My DD loved going to a sit- down meal every night and made for a nice experience. We made our reservations 3 weeks ahead, and probably should have done it 6 weeks ahead. We used less food in the room this time as well because we were stuffed (or it seemed that way). Some people did not make ressies ahead and they were not happy.

Pools- were very crowded as was the park (DUH, Easter break), given a choice we would not go back during this time again.

Value- Often discussed on this board, but what a great way to escape the world. My DW and I were walking the boardwalk happy in the fact that we did not have to drive in to the resort, did not have to see all of the commercial enterprises surrounding the parks, it was a great fantasy experience.

One last tip, we have booked our next trip for February break, we did this so we have 2 trips in 12 months and buy an annual pass. This is the second time we have done this and it really helps keep the overall cost down.

We are already counting down our next trip.

Some time back I read a post that described this experience as "being inside the Disney cocoon". And I totally agree with you -- it is wonderful to leave the real world behind outside the Disney gates.

Sounds like you had a great trip!

So glad you hear that you had a great time. :sunny: I was really wondering about the Dining Plan. DH and I are really trying to weigh it out. I think the Dining Plan is the way to go! WE go to a lot of Character meals, I am going to have to check out how I would have to exchange them.

WE LOVE the Yacht Club & Beach Club. :wizard: I really enjoy walking around that area. We just bought into the DVC and we are going to Saratoga Springs in November, the week before Thanksgiving. WHAT a great time of year. The lines are soooo short!

YOU are soooo lucky to be able to go 2 times in a year.

Honeymoon- 1987- off site- Radisson
Yacht Club- w/ DH, DD-6 & DS-9 - 2003
Beach Club Villas- w/DH, DD-8, DS-11 - 2005
Disney Hilton Head- July- 2006 (Booked) :woohoo:
Saratoga Springs- November 2006 (Booked) :woohoo:

that's a great idea to buy the annual pass...and I think there's is a discount going on for members? I better look into that before we go in June because we may go again w/in the year.

also we're staying at the BCV for two nights in June...It sounds so nice. How long is the walk over to Epcot? or MGM?-I was hoping it would be an option to walk if the lines are long..my youngest son is 7 and I read somewhere it was 3 miles!

Glad you had a good time!

Welcome to the DIS, negma and you too jmurphy! :grouphug:

Glad your trip was such a success. We enjoy the quiet of BCV as well.

jmurphy, the walk to Epcot is very short and the only way to get there other than the boats which will certainly take longer. The walk is perhaps 5 minutes to the International Gateway. We have never walked to the Disney Studios from BCV but it is certainly not 3 miles. Perhaps a mile? I think most people post it is a 20-30 minute walk.

The discount on an adult AP is a very sweet $100. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip! :thumbsup2 Everyone always asks DH and I why we go to Disney every year rather than other destinations (especially since we don't have kids! ;) ), and it is so hard to describe that feeling of just being in the Disney "cocoon" - away from the world. It truly is a magical place to be!

We also took advantage last August of the DVC discount on AP's, and are returning this June to fit 2 trips in 12 months. It really did save on the overall cost of the trip!

Post pictures if you can!!! Would love to see them! :sunny:

We are also BWV members who will be experiencing BCV for the first time come this July. Glad to hear you liked it so much! Our kids are really looking forward to using SAB.

We also do trips within a years time frame to take advantage of the AP savings and with the DVC discount it really helps the cost factor.

I so agree with the Disney "cocoon" feeling. I love to stay on property for the whole week and not see the "outside" world. It really seems like a vacation fantasy to me that way.

Glad to hear you had a good time! May I ask what size mattress you used and if you put it in the bedroom or living area? We're planning on doing the same when we go and I don't want to get one that's too big. Thanks!

We ended up with a twin mattress. We forgot to bring the one we had, so we went to the Wal-Mart Superstore (about 15 minutes), bout one for
$25. We also bought our food there and spent less than we ever had.
