Can't believe it's over..
Here are some random observations-- feel free to ask questions about anything!
BCV was wonderful-- so QUIET-- we were told it was sold out, but barely saw anyone around (until we hit Stormalong Bay when it warmed up). We definitely felt like we were at a luxury resort.
Studio with a pool view was quiet for the kids on non- Illuminations nights-- we barely heard anything.
Loved the quiet pool, esp the hot tub-- at BCV.
Loved being able to walk into the World Showcase, but ended up spending more money than we expected since we went in almost every night (those 7.25 beers add up;) )
Saw the Saratoga Springs models at BWV-- pullout looks a lot more comfy than the one at BCV, which even my kids thought was a little uncomfortable.
Loved Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco (even with kids 7 and 9), loved the Matsu No Ma lounge in Japan-- watched Illuminations there one chilly night.
Were pleasantly surprised by the yummy tacos al carbon at the Cantina San Angel.
Mission Space is the best themed ride in the history of the world, IMHO
Third year in a row going Feb vacation-- there was a noticeable difference in crowd size, we thought-- last year EMH would get you through Fantasyland and Space Mountain or Buzz, with a FP for the other-- this year, we had to choose since the Buzz line was 25 minutes by 8:25, Space Mountain 40 minutes. One CM told us that all on property rooms were sold out.
Now we're in withdrawal, waiting to go back next year.
Thank heavens for DVC and the DIS boards to get us through the post-trip blues...

Oh boy do they ever especially when you are thirsty. LOL

I was curious were the parks very busy from opening until close? Or were there slow times?

Sounds like you had a very enjoyable time. I am getting so anxious :hyper: for our trip coming up in 14 days that I dont know how I am going to survive once it is over.

We were definitely able to carve out time without crowds-- loved the World Showcase right before 11 AM-- the Maelstrom was open before 11 which was a pleasant surprise, and the crowd at MK for fireworks and parade on Tues was doable-- not wall to wall people. Most popular rides ran out of fast passes early in the day-- Test Track before 11Am on EMH day. I have to get a little more Zen about crowds-- I get a little impatient when people stop dead in front of you, or seem generally clueless about people around them. Thus, the 7.25 beers are a necessity for strss relief;) lol. On the bright side, we met some fo the nicest people EVER this trip-- so friendly and warm. Have a great time-- I'm already planning the next trip thanks to DVC!

Hi Roadtripper,

Glad you and your family had a nice time. We just got back too and enjoyed our first trip to BCV very much! Majority of our pts. are at BWV. We were a little chilly by the pool one day but it was perfect park weather so I guess we can't complain. I also thought the parks were much more crowded this year during the week (we always go this time). Last Friday and Saturday we hit the parks and only had a 10 minute wait for Mission Space and 20 minutes on Saturday. However, when we returned to parks on Monday it was a completely different story -- JAMMED with people -- even at 8 am! We waited an hour for pizza at MGM on Tuesday. The big joke on the line was that Disney should start Fast Passes for food. Even the lines for Pretzels were 20 minutes long. I just don't remember waiting like that. All in all it was still a good trip -- my kids 6,9 are still talking about Mission Space and Tower of Terror.

Glad you enjoyed your trip!

I as well find the price of the required 7.25 beers to be quite steep...but just like the sheep that I am...I will pay it, and pay it gladly!!!!!

I'm glad you had a great time at BCV. Thanks for posting. My DW and I really enjoyed it when we stayed there especially because of the proximity to EPCOT.

I agree with you about the expensive beers, but I really enjoyed having a Bass ale while watching IllumiNations. :teeth:

Just keep telling yourself, "I'm on vacation!" It works for me. ;)

Glad you enjoyed your first trip home! That pool view looks so pretty at night. What room/floor were you on? Thanks for sharing!

Glad to hear about your great trip to BCV. ::yes::

I'm going back to BCV in August. I think the weather will have warmed up enough by then to use the pool everyday! :hyper:

BCV has spoiled me so much I never want to use a regular hotel again. In fact, I spent this weekend in Indianapolis and had to have a hotel with suites.

Thanks for your trip report.::MickeyMo

Roadtripper,

We also just got back from our first trip home to the BCV. We probably passed each other and didn't even know it. I had my lime green ribbon on my fanny pack but didn't see any other ribbons.

We loved staying at BCV and being able to walk into Epcot also. We had Studio 525 which was right next to the Elevators and had a perfect view of the Illuminations fireworks. I could even hear the music. I watched from the balcony the first night and the last night.

This studio was handicap accessible which was fine with us. I'm not sure what the differences are because it was our first stay in a studio but I know I've seen some threads where people say they request not to have a handicap accessible room. The only thing that I wish had been different in the room was I had no space for toiletries in the bathroom. The sink was a pedestal instead of a sink with a vanity around it and I wasn't sure if this was because of the room type of if it's this way in all the studio's. Does anyone know?

Thanks,
Cathy K.

CathyK, yep that sink was part of the difference. In a regular room, the sink is actually outside the bathroom and there is a cabinet, etc.. In your room everything was in one larger bathroom with a tub with rails. Since the bathroom is larger, there is not room for a closet so you had that largere armoire instead. My kids had 525 for one night a year ago.

Although your room had a tub, some accessible rooms have a rollin shower. I think especially for families with small children, the tub is missed.

Another difference is that there is less counter space since the microwave is lower. Great view of Illuminations from there isn't it. One son and I had 225 for a night this past Nov....no, maybe it was 325. Anyway same configuration!
