Just back from four nights in a 2BR at the BCV. We had a great time!

To be completely honest, I did not know if I would like it at BCV much. We first became members at VWL site unseen and we really enjoyed it there. I bought into BCV because I did want a small number of additional points and they had a deal going at the time so it worked well. But to tell the honest truth I am a Boardwalk girl at heart....the ambience of the place is just awesome, so I was unsure if BCV would compare (well in my eyes anyways).

To put it mildly, we really enjoyed our stay there!! I do have to agree that Richyams (and many others) is right--OKW has far bigger units than the rest. BUT...in my opinion the decor inside the BCV rooms is the best at any DVC resort--please don't flame me! We really enjoyed the room (#467, dedicated 2BR) and the fabulous view. Stormalong Bay was awesome actually...especially when it wasn't crowded! My fiance has now stayed at VWL, BWV and BCV and he liked BCV the best. I have stayed at all four and my favorite is still Boardwalk, not sure if that will ever change!

The one thing I will say is that BCV had the closeness of Epcot/MGM but still felt really laid back like OKW...so I guess it's the best of both worlds in some ways.

Here are pics of our room!

Thanks for the photos! Looks like you had a great view from your room. :)

Is there a window between the Master Bedroom and the Living room (never seen the 2 BR)? If so, are there curtains that you close at night?

I think that is a mirror. If you look the person taking the picture is in seen in it.

I was told at the DVC office that they had swapped out all the dedicated two bedroom "pull-out" sofas for queen beds (in the 2nd bedroom). Apparently, they missed this one. Anyone know what's going on with this situation?

We have a 2BR reserved for October (dedicated) and am hopeful that there will be two queen beds in the 2nd bedroom.

Thank you so much for posting about your stay, and the awesome pics!!! We bought in October, so our first trip as DVC memeber won't be until Thanksgiving of this year. Your post made me feel even better about choosing to buy BVC instead of VWL. We really love the ambiance of VWL, but with 3 young kids, we wanted to have priority at the BCV pool, we heard was so extremely popular.

Thank you for posting your room number...with that view of Illuminations at night, I think I will be asking for that room, or at least a room next to it!!!! WOW!!!!

Newarknut,

Some of the 2nd bedroom's had to keep the sofabed and regular bed configuration to stay in compliance with ADA regulations. The units do not all have the same exact footprint/layout, so some units presumably had walls in slightly diferent positions. The two standard bed configuration would have made for clearances that could not meet regulations. Somewhere DVC published the exact number of units that were so affected, but I can't remember where:(

Hope you get the unit type you want on your trip:)

Thanks for giving an honest opinion. those of us who bought into BCV'S really appreciate your report and hope others understand what a great home resort this is.

Newarknut,

When I found out not all of the second bedrooms would have 2 queens, I called and specifically put this request on my reservation-You might want to do that!

25 of the 78 2 bedroom dedicated villas have 2 queen beds. The other 53 villas have 1 queen bed and 1 queen sleeper sofa.

unless you specifically state that you want the 2 bedrm dedicated with 2 queen beds you have a slim chance of getting it, unless it is a slow time. There are two type of 2 bedroom dedicated and you must specify, otherwise you will have one with the sofa. Good luck and call immediately.

Actually I never knew that they had actually converted 25 of the rooms, so I never bothered to specify. No big deal, we didn't need the extra bed...I would be interested to see pictures of the two queen rooms.

Yes, all in all I can say that BCV is a great resort and it's worth a try...it might not be for everyone, but I sure enjoyed myself.

This is actually the room that I had originally requested for my vacation next month. I then found out that it was not one of the bedrooms that got 2 queen beds and I had reserved a DQ (Dedicated Queen) category room, so it would not be possible for me to get that room. So, I had to change my room request. I am kind of bummed because I like being over the canel and also looking at spaceship earth and illuminations. None of the rooms on the higher floors above the canel got the 2 queen beds.

Terry, how did you find out which rooms have the queens and which don't? I haven't heard anything about this dedicated queen category or anything! Just curious :)

Thanks for the very nice write-up and the pictures! Isn't it nice that we have so many places to love? ;)

Yep, it's mirror, there's no problem with privacy.

I agree Pam ;) I think all the resorts truly have something unique to offer!
