We were so happy to be there and were so pleasantly surprised with all of BCV!

We arrived on Sat. 11/2 at about 11:00 am. We got a great “Welcome Home” from our CM that checked us in (didn’t catch her name.) I didn’t expect our room to be ready so early, and it wasn’t. So we had checked our bags with the valet and ventured out to the Boardwalk for some lunch. The weather was warmer than expected, so we bought some t-shirts for the kids to change into and we grabbed some hot dogs and pizza and sat on the Boardwalk and enjoyed the feeling of being “home!” After lunch we went over to the International Gateway to activate our AP’s and decided to call to see if our room was ready. At this point it was about 1:30 and the room was ready! YEA!

We were in room #303, a no-smoking 1-bedroom overlooking the courtyard and the turn-a-round in the driveway where you leave your car for valet. No biggie on the view – we only requested non-smoking 1-bedroom. And we got the room in a last minute switch from OKW. So we were just so happy to be there. The room was immaculate and just so comfortable. The only downside was that darn A/C sensor in the bedroom. By the 3rd day we had gotten sort of used to it, but they need to figure out another system to monitor the A/C. The room would warm up during the night and we would wake up and need to activate the sensor to get the room to cool down.

All other appliances were great – the washer/drier, all the kitchen appliances and the bathroom items (hairdryer & Jacuzzi) were fabulous. I now want to upgrade my own kitchen’s microwave and dishwasher because I used the new ones there! Also - no wine opener in the kitchen. We had to buy one in the gift shop. All other needed utensils were there.

We took the tour of the models and got a chance to see the studio. Although much smaller than the 1-bed, we decided we could use it for the shorter trips from now on. Of course we would always love to stay in the 1-bedroom. Perhaps some creative point planning or add-ons are required. :p I also got my BCV “limited edition” pin during the tour :).

One question on the BC – what is the use of Ariel’s and Martha’s Vineyards? There was one meeting in Ariel’s one evening, but except for that those areas were always empty and just a big waste of space. We thought it would be a great area for another mid-priced restaurant or even a nice food court. Just my opinion.

The parks were great – attendance was higher over the weekend than during the week (as expected) and we sure saw a lot of characters! They just seemed to be everywhere. Even Mickey! He (and Minnie) was at the MK entrance and they were also on Cinderella’s Castle stage for the morning show! They had started to put up some Christmas decorations so we got a chance to see a little bit of those. So nice – I would love to be at WDW for Christmas some day!

Overall - our 4-night trip was great and we just can’t wait to get back in May. Our 'sight unseen' DVC purchase has definitely lived up to our expectations.

Its just what I've been waiting for...wonderful. Its so great to hear from a first timer that you loved it. Now I really can't wait for April. So glad you got your pin! :D

Thanks for the post Sheryl!!!:D We will be there in less than three weeks and cannot wait. Our home resort is BWV and have been nervous about staying elsewhere. Your report has made me more anxious if that is possible. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Glad you had such a great first trip home.

It's great to hear how much you enjoyed your stay. We are so looking forward to our first trip "home" to BCV December 7th. Our excitement is definitely building.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the BCV as much as we did. (If thats possible). We have been back in Michigan from our first trip "home" for about a month now and are definately ready to go back.

We are also arriving Dec. 7th and really looking forward to being so close to World Showcase. OKW is our home . We added on at BCV and can't wait to give it a try !

I'm glad you had a wonderful stay at the BCV. We leave Monday for our first trip 'home" to the BCV. My DH and I are really looking forward to our first WDW vacation without kids since our honeymoon.

For those of you, who saw my earlier posts about my FIL dying of kidney cancer and not being sure if we would be able to go, I'm sorry to say he passed away almost 3 weeks ago. Although it was a blessing for him, its still hard to say good-bye. Anyway, this trip will be especially beneficial for my DH.

You said you saw some Christmas decorations already being put up. Where did you see them? I have never had the opportunity to go over Christmas yet but would love to do so.

Donna - we were at BWV for Veterans' Day last year - and they had already started putting the decorations up at the resort. We were REALLY surprised! It almost seemed a little early. Heck! It IS a little early! :) I wasn't quite ready for them! But I think you'll definitely see some during your trip!

We're heading over tomorrow morning - just to try out BCV for the night and enjoy the F&W Festival - looking forward to it!!

Have a great trip!

Glad you had a good trip!

When we were there in August we asked about Ariel's andwere told it's used for private parties and meetings. We were very disappointed when it closed, excellent seafood! I too wish they's open another restaurant there.

Christmas decor...

They were putting up the lights at MGM in the backlot and NY street was decorated.

At MK - the shops on Main Street already have garland and Christmas trees. We were in Casey's corner and the sports theme shops.

Enjoy!!:D

I'm glad you enjoyed BCV so much!

Is there anyone who ISN'T arriving on Dec. 7?! That's our day too!
