We were so happy to be there and were so pleasantly surprised with all of BCV!
We arrived on Sat. 11/2 at about 11:00 am. We got a great Welcome Home from our CM that checked us in (didnt catch her name.) I didnt expect our room to be ready so early, and it wasnt. So we had checked our bags with the valet and ventured out to the Boardwalk for some lunch. The weather was warmer than expected, so we bought some t-shirts for the kids to change into and we grabbed some hot dogs and pizza and sat on the Boardwalk and enjoyed the feeling of being home! After lunch we went over to the International Gateway to activate our APs and decided to call to see if our room was ready. At this point it was about 1:30 and the room was ready! YEA!
We were in room #303, a no-smoking 1-bedroom overlooking the courtyard and the turn-a-round in the driveway where you leave your car for valet. No biggie on the view we only requested non-smoking 1-bedroom. And we got the room in a last minute switch from OKW. So we were just so happy to be there. The room was immaculate and just so comfortable. The only downside was that darn A/C sensor in the bedroom. By the 3rd day we had gotten sort of used to it, but they need to figure out another system to monitor the A/C. The room would warm up during the night and we would wake up and need to activate the sensor to get the room to cool down.
All other appliances were great the washer/drier, all the kitchen appliances and the bathroom items (hairdryer & Jacuzzi) were fabulous. I now want to upgrade my own kitchens microwave and dishwasher because I used the new ones there! Also - no wine opener in the kitchen. We had to buy one in the gift shop. All other needed utensils were there.
We took the tour of the models and got a chance to see the studio. Although much smaller than the 1-bed, we decided we could use it for the shorter trips from now on. Of course we would always love to stay in the 1-bedroom. Perhaps some creative point planning or add-ons are required.
I also got my BCV limited edition pin during the tour
.
One question on the BC what is the use of Ariels and Marthas Vineyards? There was one meeting in Ariels one evening, but except for that those areas were always empty and just a big waste of space. We thought it would be a great area for another mid-priced restaurant or even a nice food court. Just my opinion.
The parks were great attendance was higher over the weekend than during the week (as expected) and we sure saw a lot of characters! They just seemed to be everywhere. Even Mickey! He (and Minnie) was at the MK entrance and they were also on Cinderellas Castle stage for the morning show! They had started to put up some Christmas decorations so we got a chance to see a little bit of those. So nice I would love to be at WDW for Christmas some day!
Overall - our 4-night trip was great and we just cant wait to get back in May. Our 'sight unseen' DVC purchase has definitely lived up to our expectations.
