Just back from BC - disappointing

I think this is typical. "Delxue prices" so so service... I don't find that the reports on how Disney deluxes deal with issues are any better at any of them... and I guess Disney figures we keep paying so why should they have to step up to meet the standards?

Now I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt here b/c honestly this line seems potentially TERRIBLY insulting. Can you kindly clarify?

IMO - She means that the New England themeing at the BC isn't exotic to a new Englander, or at least wasn't "exotic" to her  And she gave the example of Texas since it's a completely different region. Maybe someone who lives out West would find that themeing different and exciting ~

I wonder if part of the problem is that I grew up going to the beach on the East Coast, lived in New England for several years, and so the theming just didn't seem "exotic" to me. Maybe if I were from say, TX, it would have seemed more exciting??

Not to be disrespectful or anything but Im not really sure that they wanted the area to look "exotic"??!!
I would of been upset about the toilet issue for sure!!THat is just WRONG~!~
I thought of a way to make you feel better..... Start planning a future trip to CR!! That ALWAYS makes me feel better.:thumbsup2 (planning a new trip!!)

I am so bummed to hear this review! I am booked for the BC in mid August
and I've been worried about it since I booked. We are a family of 5, so our choices are limited in resorts. We've stayed at AKL, POLY, FT. Wild Cabins and POR before and had an excellent time! (I had noticed however over the years, Disney is not as "magical" as far as customer service goes.) We couldn't get into to AKL because of construction(that's a whole other post:sad2: ) so we thought we'd give BC a try. WL is too much like where we live now(Mountains of Colorado) and I thought we couldn't fit at CR(also assumed you would get better service and rooms at DELUXE), but now I'm questioning if I want to spend the money:confused3 ?? Is it worth it??

Unfortunately SAB has always had a (IMHO) problem with not enough seating.I have seen alot of guests put towels/etc on chairs and leave for hours, but I wish there would be a way to control that.:confused3

The room was pretty, the mattresses overstuffed and plush, and the pool is cool (my kids liked SAB and the pool at Coronado), but the hotel just looks sort of "tired". The BC doesn't really "play pretend". Like AKL is a safari lodge, Coronado is desert southwest... the BC is just a pretty seaside hotel. I go to Disney a lot--at least four times a year--and have no desire to go back here. I would see about changing to the Yacht Club or Boardwalk if you cannot get into the Contemporary.

Another thing that annoyed me about this hotel was that they charged to rent pool toys. Noodles and tubes had a fee to them. Kids who are not strong swimmers need some sort of floatation assistance in the waterpark area of SAB, but they wanted to charge for them.

The location of the Epcot resorts are great, but I'm done with this place. Two nights was enough. There are folks who love it... I'll try Boardwalk next.

I didn't mean Contemporary(I always get confused with all of the acronyms) I meant to say CSR(Coronado). Have you been there? How would you compare it? Would it comfortably fit a family of 5(12,15,17 Boys)? Thinking about calling to see if they have any vacancies or AP rates for my days??CSR looks kind of cool...Even thought I'm originally from Texas, I still like Mexico Flavor...What do you think???

Given the price of the BC, one would certainly expect to NOT walk around in toilet water  In fact, I'd say that is the exact opposite of pixie dust.

Oh no! I promise I wasn't insulting TX at all! (We lived in TX for 2 yrs!!) I just meant that the New England beach theme might have felt more "different' to someone from TX than it did to someone from the East Coast. If someone from the East Coast chose a "Texan" (Southwestern) theme, that might seem a little more different to them than the scenery that they're used to. Does that make sense? Or did I just make it worse??:scared1:

I Love, Love, LOVE(!) Coronado Springs. but it does have its detractions. First of all its huge. Was there twice last year and I'll be back there after Christmas this year. PM me and I'll give you more info.

We've stayed at BWI and POFQ and I didn't think the rooms in either were special at all and were a little disappointing. But I guess I pay for the atmosphere, location and convenience of staying on Disney property.

I have stayed at BC many times, and I'd have to say that about 50 percent of the time they were great stays, and about 50 percent of the time I've had either maintenance or housekeeping issues. The last couple stays have been very good, in fact, the last one in April it looked like all the soft furnishings had been recently replaced, and the room was kept immaculate. But there was one trip about three years ago, where we checked in to find a huge bag of garbage just sitting in the middle of the floor. There were candies under the ottoman that stayed there the whole trip, and it didn't seem like our room was ever vacuumed. I think housekeeping varies greatly all across the board at Disney and I think it's an issue that needs to be addressed by all of us as it happens (so they know who isn't doing their job).

If it is JUST the pool towel MOVE IT! LOL! I do... and don't feel the least bit of regret. Once a woman did give me grief, but I just looked at her like she was an idiot (which I thought she was so that part was easy) and she storme off!

I too was there last week (well..YC)..there were several things amiss..but we too had trouble with housekeeping..when we tried to use the daybed at 10pm there were no sheets..had to call housekeeping twice to get the sheets and then we request turn down service and only got it the last 2 nights...that is something that has never happened before..

This didn't ruin my trip..and management seemed genuinely concerned when I spoke to them...

We are leaving in just 12 days. I am hoping and praying that our stay does not involve incooperative potties. :sad2: We have stayed at BCV and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were immaculate, but maybe that was because we were the first first to stay in the room. It was only the 2nd week BCV was open. We loved SAB, and don't remember any bus issues...

My DD13 and DD10 really want towel animals.... I hope some pixie dust shows up and maybe once we can get some...

We are hoping that when we check in we won't be given room 3694.

We too are hoping not to get room 3694, and we go July 6th.

I am hoping our stay will be better, we did pick this resort partially because of the pool area, and my 3 kids with fins (LOL) would love to cool off in such a large pool.

I hope we did not make a mistake.

I'd forgotten about that! We had the same problem with the daybed! We called the first night and they insisted that there were sheets under the daybed mattress. There were not. There were no sheets anywhere in the room. We called back and told them, no sheets. The woman clearly did not believe DH when he called back to say that yes, we did need sheets. An hour later, no sheets. Finally, a trip to the front desk did the trick. We had sheets in minutes. But what a hassle!:confused3

That's not what I needed to hear!:sad2: My big debate last fall was whether to book CR or BC and now you just confirmed that I would have like CR better! (I've been consoling myself by thinking that if we'd been at CR, then I would have wished I had chosen BC.....)

I think if we didn't have anything to compare the BC to this trip, then we might have felt differently. However, after coming from 3 fabulous nights at the CR, it just paled in comparison. It is a lovely resort and the pool is lots of fun. I knew dining choices would be limited to sit down dinners, but the problem was the Yacht Club Galley was closed during our entire stay so we were really left with buffets at Cape May (we ate dinner there once) or the Marketplace. Beaches and Cream was always too crowded and Hurricane Hanna's seemed out of the way if you weren't already at the pool. At CR we at least had Concourse Steakhouse, and the food/fun center and the snack bar at the pool. Our favorite food court for a deluxe is the new Captain Cooks. The food we had there on a couple different occasions was super fresh, we loved the touch screen ordering system and the food was great.

For reference, our previous stays have included WL (2x), CR, POR (2x), CBR and now BC as well. If I got a great rate at BC I would stay again (I'm talking the $189/night they were running last summer). For the $300 I spent each night on an annual pass discount, there was no comparison (for our family) to the CR. For us, it felt like we'd been downgraded going from luxuriously soft sheets, lots of pillows, lovely decor, flat screen tvs, a nice desk area, etc to a room that has two beds and a tv. The room/convenience obviously is important to our family. We tend to enjoy "resort time" about as much as "park time". I truly didn't expect much out of CR, but fell in love with it. I've been dreaming about staying at the BC for years and I will say, that I'm really glad that we at least tried it. I think if it's someplace you've wanted to stay and haven't had a chance, then go for it. I would have always wondered if we were missing something by not staying there. For our family, we just prefer something with great transportation like CR or truly spectacular theming like WL. We will be choosing one of those hotels next year. That's just what works best for us. Hopefully you'll have a magical stay. Oh, and the one thing I've taken away from these boards, is that no matter how bad reviews are on an individual hotel, your experience may very well be positive and nothing like the isolated incidents that tend to stand out.

Yes! IT is worth it. I personally love the Y and B club.. It is so beautiful.
I do understand the comparison to other resorts, but Disney strives for good customer service. I mean, stuff happens. But in all of the years I have been going to Disney I have never had a problem not solved.

But I am  at the crib instead of a plunger.

Have a great trip.
