We just got back 02/01. January is a perfect time to go. No crowds and we were able to get off a ride and get right back on. My DS and DH rode Splash Mountain 3 times back to back! The weather was great. When we left Durham, NC on the 25th., it was 18 degrees and snow was on the ground so it felt great when we got to WDW. I will try to report everything that I can about our awesome trip. I'm going to start with our resort. I have read some conflicting reports here about POFQ so I would like to tell all of you about our wonderful experience there!!!
We loved everything about it. Our room was clean. We were in bldg. 3 which was a great location. It was so close to everything. All the CMs were very nice. Our only complaint, if you want to call it that, was that we liked POR's food court and shop better than FQ's. Both food court and shop was much bigger, but that was fine because we loved taking the boat from FQ to Riverside. We got a great deal on our room using one of the codes I got from here. Our room was $84/night. My DH surprised us with the horse drawn carriage ride around both resorts. Our rider was Carrie. She was such a joy and so sweet. Our horse "James Dean" was so calm and gentle. My DS really enjoyed it. It was about 9:00 at night and the temp. was still in the 60's. It cost $30 and lasted about 35 to 45 minutes. While on our ride in the carriage we saw some of the fireworks at Epcot. The boats were fun. We took the boat back and forth between the resorts several times and took the boat to Downtown Disney 2 times.
I still have a lot I would like to share with you guys. We had some wonderful moments and one bad incident, and of course the tragic events of 02/01. Maybe I can find time later to give you more of our trip report.
