Just back from ASMu

I thought I'd post the rest of our room photos just for fun.

Are they still running the evening movies by the pool? I think this is such a great idea, though I understand it may not continue:confused3

We're at ASMu 11/1 through 11/6 and my kids would love that!

When we were there last week it was on the schedule they gave us, but I don't know if it happened or not because we were at the parks and it rained every night.

We just got back as well- 9/11-9/17. We were unable to get a preferred room, and we got a room on the back of the last Broadway building, so quite a bit from Melody Hall. We saw all the cool towel animals in all the windows, and despite leaving tips, and my 8 y.o. DS writing a cute note/drawing the last day, we never saw one. And most of all, the bus situation is HORRENDOUS! I can not believe how many hours we wasted because we relied on Disney transportation. The room was fine, nothing spectacular, but overall clean. I was surprised to hear that they were all rehabbed, because there was a lot of rust in the bathroom- the door hinges, the sprinkler covers. We still had a great time, and face it, $82 a night including all your meals can't be beat, but I doubt we will ever stay at an All-Stars again, and if for some reason we did, I would NEVER consider doing it without renting a car.

Wow! We just got back and my experience was so different from yours. I guess its all relative, because we were in Country Fair which is further from Melody hall than you were, and we didn't find the walk to be far at all. Less than 5 minutes. The Piano pool was right at the foot of the stairs.

I thought the room was great. We had a towel animal waiting on our bed at check in.

The buses were also fantastic. Only shared a bus once and that was mid day on the way back from AK. Stoped at Sports, then dropped us off. No biggie. Even GF shares buses sometimes.

BTW we are POP fans who were disappointed when we had to book ASmu to get free dining. Now we wouldn't hesitate to return for a minute.

Yes, we watched "Jump In" by the pool last Thursday

I love this resort! Glad you enjoyed your stay! DH and I stayed here, in Calypso because there was a Cheerleading competition going on, and they were all housed in the buildings we wanted (Broadway, Jazz). It was an upgrade, and the pool was a little noisy, but we were very happy! The only thing noisier than the pool was the guy next to us who was complaining to security every night about the noise in the pool. :)

hehehe - I had to complain to the front desk on my 1st night when the kids at the pool didn't quiet down by 1:30am, but, I wasn't noisy about my complaining. So, that wasn't me. I was in Calypso on the 3rd floor facing the pool and it was VERY noisy. Oh, and after finally falling asleep, I was awakened again around 3am by some very noisy, drunken guests coming back from wherever. I didn't get out of bed to look, but, from the volume at which they were shouting I can only imagine that they were walking on either side of the pool shouting across to each other.

While in the bathroom the next morning, I realized how loud the exhaust fan was. hmmmmm. That night, before going to sleep, I turned on the light/fan in the bathroom and it totally masked the noise from the pool outside. It was a great solution. I got to sleep and the kids got to run and scream! I had to keep the bathroom door open in order to hear the fan. But, I used the privacy curtain to block out most of the light. I did this every night for the rest of the stay and had no trouble sleeping thru each night.

As of early this week, they were still running movies at the pool every night except if there were lightning storms in the immediate area. On those nights, the movies were shown on the large TV at the far end of the food court.

Leave in less than 12 hours and are really looking forward to our stay. Thanks to all who posted about this resort. I promise to give a full report in a few.
