We just got in last night from our 7 night stay at ASMo. It was myself and my four year old and we met my sister, brother in law and their three kids down there (9, 5 and 4), who live in MI. I requested connecting rooms and we got them in the Mighty Ducks building on the third floor. Very quiet location!! The room was clean, no complaints, and we requested a fridge at check in and it was immediately brought up. The weather was great, not a drop of rain at all and semi-cool at night. Busses ran efficiently (most of the time) and while it was busy, the crowds were manageable.
An hour after we got there, I reached in my purse for my wallet and realized it was gone!! I almost had a heart attack. I ran back to the pay phone in the lobby of the resort where I knew I had left it and a guy asked if I was looking for my wallet and said he had turned it in to guest services. Thank goodness for honest people!!!
Some highlights of the trip were:
MNSSHP...DS was Peter Pan and had fun trick or treating! It was cute to see the characters in their "costumes."
The kids went on the Pirate Cruise at the GF and really loved that. They got pirate bandana's and name tags and came back with lunch and a bag of treasure. We rented water mice while they were out looking for treasure. I love those little boats!
Mickey's Philharmagic - Loved it!!!! We saw it twice, it was so neat!! We got the framed print with the pin for booking the FTP and it's hanging on DS's wall now. It's really nice looking.
This is the first year my son is 40", so he was able to ride on Splash Mountain, Test Track, Star Tours, Dinosaur, etc...and he loved it!! He loved Test Track so much we rode it three times hehe.
We did the parks stroller free which was sooo nice!! We brought the umbrella stroller and used it on day one, but it was just such a pain to park it then go find it and it was soo heavy to push so I just left it in the room. DS didn't miss it and walked the whole time and took little cat naps during some shows.
I must say though....it's really hard to travel with another family...especially a family that isn't into Disney as much as my son is. DS loves all the characters and loves to hug them and get autographs. He gets really excited about the rides (even the "boring" ones) and my niece (who is nine) was looking for "thrill rides." My brother in law just didn't understand why we had to stop everytime we saw a character to get a pic and an autograph LOL. We did split up from them a few times though , and it worked out well since we wanted to do different things and I felt like the things I wanted to do, they really didn't want to do. They had fun though (at least I think they did)
I am used to going with my husband (almost divorced now though), so I was a little worried about not having someone to "take over" when DS was testing my patience, but he was pretty good most of the time and I'm proud of myself for doing it "alone."
Now I'm off to plan our next trip!! I'm thinking the cruise next time
