Just back from AKL - review

WOW - you are all making me very homesick for the AKL. It is my all time favorite resort... but it is the Swan for us this year My DH promised to take me to Bomas for breakfast and Jiko for dinner this trip but it won't be the same as waking up and seeing the animals from your balcony. Oh well.. I will be at Disney in the midst of the magic so I can't complain.

Call me crazy but I thought you had a bad concierge experience at AKL?? was that you or someone else? I could be mixed up.

So glad you enjoyed AKL!!! We loved our stay last Feb. too! I know we'll be back. I agree the music, "smells," hotel layout, transportation, theming, friendly cm's, awesome lobby, zero-entry pool, and of course the animals really make this a Disney awesome resort!!!

My DH and I loved the Frunch at the Boma also, here is the recipe:

Frunch
(Boma, Animal Kingdom Lodge)

Yield: 12 servings (1 gallon)

1 x 8 ounce can Lemon juice, frozen and canned
1 x 8 ounce can Pineapple juice, frozen and canned
1 x 8 ounce can Orange juice, frozen concentrate and canned
12 ounces Mango juice
6 ounces Grenadine

Follow the package instructions on the frozen juice containers.
Mix in a large bowl.
Add the mango juice and grenadine.
Mix well and server over ice in a tall glass

JCE mom:

I get terrible migraines from different smells. Someone can walk by me with strong perfume like a cloud around them and within a minute I have a migraine started and usually full blown in a half hour.

We stayed 4 nights at akl and had no problems. I love that resort as well. Have fun.

Thanks for the reassurance. DH thinks "it's all in my head" and that it's not possible for smells to make someone sick. It's so frustrating that I can't make him understand...he always sticks those stupid pine trees in the cars then gets mad when I find them (he hides them) and throw them away...LOL

I went into a "reserved panic" when I read about the AKL "smells" because I was afraid it would be an overpowering flowery smell or something. I've really been looking forward to our stay. Now I am really looking forward to it...AGAIN...lol
