We just got back from staying in a studio at AKL Kidani and all I can say is Wow! We loved it! My kids loved our savannah room, and couldn't believe there were real animals outside our balcony! We usually stay in 1BR's but this time stayed in a studio, so their only comment on the room was "where is the jacuzzi tub??" :rotfl:
We had dinner at Sanaa one night and we had a wonderful server and the food was fantastic! Loved the atmosphere too! We can't wait to go back!:thumbsup2

Glad you had a nice time. We have rented DVC points and have exactly the same booked. Which area did you stay in? I have requested zebra area of kindani. What is the new pool area like.I have an 8 year old. Did you have agood view? Sorry just nice to ask someone that has stayed there already

Hi there! We unfortunately only stayed there for 2 nights this trip, which was way too short! I am planning on booking another stay there for longer next time so that we can experience the whole resort! The kids were so excited to be at Disney they wanted to stay at the parks all day and not go back to the hotel to swim:goodvibes We were also in the Zebra section, our room # was 7686 and was on the 2nd floor, which was great! It is in the 4th section of rooms from the lobby (which is about the 1/2 way point from lobby to end of hallway). The walk wasn't bad at all. You are going to have a great time!:thumbsup2

Your 8 year old will love the pool area-every afternoon for two hours the CMs play games and have activities for the kids-it was fun to watch-they really seem to have a good time-even one of the young lifeguards would get up and dance with the kids instead of taking his break!

And be sure and talk to the CMs from Africa by the animal viewing area-the are so nice to speak with and can tell you so much.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed Kidani! AKV is our home resort and we have stayed at Kidani 3 times. We love it. And Sannaa is one of our absolute favorites.

I was a little nervous eating at Sanaa because I am not an adventurous eater, but it was one of the best meals of the trip! And combine it with the ambiance of the restaurant, it was wonderful!:thumbsup2

Glad to read that you had such a great time! We have to try Sanaa some day!

We love the resort, and AKV has the best CM's on the property :goodvibes (in our opinion). We have been stuck on BOMA, so maybe we will try Sanaa this time around (although we have BOMA booked for the evening of our arrival).

We have not stayed at all the DVC resorts yet, but this one has made the biggest impression on us. Although we are members of SSR (and enjoy it there) - our DD6 absolutely loved this resort and wanted to stay again. So, as usual we booked SSR at 11 months and called and had not problem booking a week at Kidani in October. We chose standard view as we are rarely in our room - so our animal sightings are in the lobby, out back, and at the pool.

A fantastic place

Hi Kris10luvsDisney,
Thanks for sharing about your trip, it sounds like you had a great time. AK is a wonderful resort and Sanaa is the best. :lovestruc There is truly nothing like looking out of your room and seeing animals! :goodvibes

We are AKV addicts too. We have stayed at WLV once and liked it but we are totally hooked on AKV's. We don't even care if we never stay anywhere else. We are probably going to try somewhere else just for variety, but last year when I went on a last minute trip with my son and his family we stayed at CBR because it was the best we could get, but I had to drive over to AKL Kidani just to visit! I had to get my "savannah fix".

For our upcoming trip in April, we plan to eat at Boma (my #1 favorite!) twice, Sanaa and Jiko! I will most likely book them for every other day so our taste buds don't get overloaded! ;)

OP - thanks for sharing. I always like it when I read great reviews of where we're going next! :thumbsup2

Glad you loved AKV-kidani.

I didn't think I would love kidani as much as I loved jambo, but it far surpassed my expections. I love how they tied the same feeling of jambo house without all the hussle and bussle of the large resort lobby.

Going to AKV in September, our first DVC stay since our purchase in July. Looking forward to the restaurants. We plan to try all resorts. You know what they about first impressions.

Stayed at Kidani twice in 2009 and Jambo house for 10 days this year and my preference was with Kidani. We won't go back to Jambo anymore.
