Just back from AKL concierge and BCV

Hi...Just back from a savanna veiw concierge at AKL . The room was great..we were at the end of the hall in a 1 bedroom...we were looking at the construction...I agree with some of the other posts about the veiw..there were not many animals around...i think the pool veiw on the other side would of been nicer..the concierge level is beautiful

then we switched to BC...we were in room 238...with a veiw of the pool...we love the BC...the rooms are not nearly as nice as AK...but there is something about the BC we love...we always have a car...so to park your own car really close is nice....

What was your room number at AKV?

I am pretty sure it was 6208. the only room in the hall past us was a studio....we had the connecting door to it...

I loved the way the room looked..very nice...my daughter who is 15...did not like how the bath room was set up...she likes when you have the separte jacuzzi tub..the bathroom at AKL had the combined shower and tub...it was hard to step into for her...the tub is a jacuzzi tub...very high..

My DW and I were just talking about AKV concierge. She asked me what all you get w/ conciegre. I know some of the basic, but couldn't give her a good answer. Can you help?

Breakfast was the normal stuff....3 cold cereals...oatmeal...bagels...danish...3 kinds of juice..milk...coffee...muffins..yougart

we were not there for lunch...

evening was one kind of soup...and like 3 kinds of other dishes...one night it was chicken kabobs...saugage and peppers...ribs one day...and always cheese and breads with spreads...and wine and beer in the evening...

you could always get soda and milk in the cooler..

you could make it your meals if you wanted too..and the lounge was so nice...and all the rooms for the villas are very close...on the same level.

Glad you had a great trip! How were the offerings at the BC Marketplace? And do you remember what kinds of gelato they had?

Sorry I didn't even look at the gelato...they had ham, egg and cheese crosants for breakfast..and after that..they had salads you could tell them what you wanted in them... and the 2 sandwichs...I think 1 was the turkey and the other roast beef...

then they have stuff in the cooler...like uncrustables...and that kind of stuff..

We ate at beachs and cream while we were there...and cape may breakfast..so we didn't eat at the market place much..

We are at the BCV's right now and will be transferring to the AKV's concierge on Sat.! It sounds like we are doing the same thing as you. How did your transfer go? Did you use bell services?

Simba's Mom- I will check on the flavors of gelato when we go to dinner and post it when I get back tonight.

Hi....we had a car, so we did not use bell services...it is really easy to transfer with a car...

What room are you in at BCV and when did you get there? We left on Tuesday...

Saw some rooms with July 4th decorations around the pool..that was cool..

We are in room 151. We checked in on Tuesday!

We don't have a car so will have to use bell services. How did you like concierge? I am thinking of telling the front desk at AKV to forget the SV and ask for a pool view, what do you think?

It's interesting that I, (61), and tall to boot, also found the tub hard to get into! It wasn't a pretty sight, my getting out.

If it were me...I would rather had the pool veiw..the pool veiw is beautiful...and I was always going over to see if the pool had open back up..after every afternoon thunderstrom...and I mean every afternoon..

and there are so many places to go see the animals..we did not see that many..
we did see 1 giraffe one time for a couple minutes while we were there...and some ostriches...also when we were there...they were painting the outside of the whole U shape..where we were..that might not be there till you get there..

but the room was great..no matter what veiw..

can't wait for the new building to have the new bathrooms...the room was beautiful thought..

I agree with you. I was in 6206 in May and I thought that the pool view seemed much nicer than the savannah view that I had. I also loved the concierge level and the services.

Did you do sunrise safari?

We just got back from VAK concierge, too. We had pool view for one night, then switched to the savannah side. I agree, I hated climbing into that tub to shower. On the Savannah side we had the acessible/handicapped room and I WAY preferred the shower stall. We were not going to use the tub anyway, so it was ok.

Weird to hear someome preferring the accessible room, lol.

The pool view side is not that great either.

Just wanted to update. We ended up with a pool view and I didn't even ask. I actually like it! We are in room 6401/6402(a 2 BR)and we have a great pool view and can see a very small savannah behind the pool. I actually don't mind the roof overhangs as it seems more private. I love staying concierge and it will be so hard when I have to go back to a "regular room" .

I can't wait until they get done with all this construction. We have another reservation coming up, I sure hope they have moved to another section of the resort when we arrive. It will be in 2009, that should give them pleanty of time to get their painting finished. I do love the Concierge Lounge! It will spoil me in a heartbeat.
