We just got back Saturday from a wonderful week at disney. We stayed at AKL, paid for standard pool view, they upgraded us to deluxe pool view on the 5th floor. I have to say that I was a little dissapointed with the haphazard job that Mousekeeping did, but besides that, it was great. Boma and Jiko are both to die for!! Best food I have ever eaten. All of the castmembers were out of their way nice.

Any questions?

Hi! I'm heading to AKL on Aug 4th. Is there a hair dryer and an iron in the room? Is the hair dryer powerful? Trying to figure out if I need to take mine.

There is a hair dryer and iron both in the room. The hair dryer is not powerful at all, if you have thick hair, I would definately bring one from home.

Welcome back!

Glad you had a great stay! Have you planned your next trip to WDW yet? :rotfl:

I was afraid of that! I have super thick hair. *sigh* I guess I'll have to pack mine or I'll spend two hours trying to do my hair! Thanks for answering!

How was the room size? We are going for DS's 3rd B-day and I was thinking of starting out at AKL on our first night (DVC the rest of the time).

We are a family of 3. Does a King room have a daybed or anything like that for DS to sleep on?

Thanks,
Mrs. PB

Our room had two queen beds. I felt that the room size was really good. There was SO and I and our 13 year old dd.

Did you notice if they were doing the cooking/cuisine tour and what time of day?

What time of day is storytelling?

thanks!

I believe the storytelling was at 7pm. We are super early risers and don't get out and do much of the evening stuff, so I am not sure.

As for all of the other tours, when you go down to the waiting area for Boma, look beside the telephones. There will be a board up with all of the information about the tours and the times each day.
