Just back from adult only trip

Thanks so much for the review and pics. We just purchased a small amount of Aulani points with the intent of using for just husband and I hotel room every other year. I'm glad you enjoyed the hotel. While not a fan of Oahu, I couldn't resist a subsidized contract for a quick adult only winter getaway at such an affordable price. It's nice to read about the resort from a couple traveling without kids.

My daughter will be staying at Aulani next week and I sent her your review warning about rocks. I worry about that and also rip tides on certain beaches. Kids and husband are always teasing me about safety mom but it's not like I sit around thinking about what could possibly go wrong. Some things require a little extra caution. Sorry about your husband's accident.

I'm in the camp of sounds like too much hassle to island hop. But I can't stand airports and Lihue and HNL aren't my favorites. Everyone has different tolerance for airports though and the other islands are wonderful.

We made a reservation about an hour ahead for an 8:00 dinner through Open Table. I don't know what happened but when we got there they could not find our reservation in the system. They were still able to seat us right away as there were plenty of empty tables. I think there may be a wait during busier times but it didn't seem necessary to us to have a reservation.

Great review, thank you for taking the time! Sis and I have thought about taking an adults trip to Aulani, so this helps a lot. Also, there's a Monkeypod on Maui that is one of my fav restaurants on the island! Glad you guys liked it
