Thanks to all of you at the DIS boards who made suggestions. Just got back with my family from a wonderful week at the CS. We had a party of 7--me, 2 ds (age 9 and 12), dh, Sil, MIL, FIL. Managed to keep everyone happy (and full!) Here's a quick review of where we ate. I hope I haven't gained too much...I pretty much ate half of everything I was given and we walked a lot

First night: HOB. Pretty good...I had a simple appetizer-sized cesar salad with blackened chicken and a Voodoo porter. Most of the rest of the family had the stewed chicken, which HOB said was their specialty...however, the rice at the bottom of the bowl was uncoooked, so none of my family was thrilled to have "crunchy" rice. Kids had pizza and chicken fingers. Dessert was Ghiradelli--I had (1/2) of a hot fudge sundae. *** for HOB. **** for GHiradelli!

Monday night: MK. Ate at Pecos Bills. Had a cheeseburger and carrots; nothing to write home about. Dinner was at Whispering Canyon. **** for the nachos (I am not partial to beef or chili on my nachos, but they were out of this world!). Couple of Sierra Nevadas to wash down the nachos (I ate about 1/2.) For dessert, we split the apple cake...****. Only * star for the ambience--wayyyyy too noisy for us. I know I had read it was noisy but it was really hard to hear anything. My DH did enjoy getting the "gallon" refill of coke, though!

Tuesday: Kennedy Center day. Ate at one of the food courts, nothing memorable, think I had (1/2) of a pizza. Dinner was Pepper Market. Only ** for my meal--which the baked potato with topping and the glass of Chilean wine received. Zero stars to the overcooked, dry, inedible chicken wings. Tuesday night, several beers at Francisco's bar...met some colorful guy who it turned out, lived in our hometown.

Wed: Epcot. Lunch res. at Rose and Crown ***1/2 to this. I had a small cup of potato leek soup (lacked salt.) Accompanied by sort of a plain salad. Washed it down with a black and tan. Followed by a taste of wine in France (yummy), Another taste in Italy (not too good...ended up being allergic to whatever it was, as my throat started swelling up!) Ended up in Germany, had some HORRIBLE beer (I think it was some form of Lowenbrau) that dh and I ended up ditching in the China trashcan. Ugh. I'm a beer connosiour (sp?) and I think Budweiser would have tasted better. Oh well. It was on a Disney rewards card so I didn't feel too bad about wasting it....

Dinner: Alfredo---**********. What a fantastic meal of cesar salad, app. sized fetuccini alfredo (ate half) and split 1/2 a cannoli for dinner. Is the recipe for the Alfredo on the web? WOW!!! Would definitely go back.

Thursday: Thanksgiving Day. Skipped lunch, ate chips and salsa and beer at the Pool after a day at AK. Dinner was **********--California Grille. I had a wonderful wine (bottle of Gewertztreminar (sp?) with a rock shrimp/crab/citrus butter stuffed artichoke for app and turkey with dressing plate for dinner (ate half). Ate half of a pumpkin mousse dessert. Yum!!!

Friday: Lunch: MGM Sci Fi diner. ***. I ordered the bbq chicken sandwich, was EH. The cookies and cream shake was to die for though. Great ambience--whole family really enjoyed it.

Dinner:********* Boma. Thanks for all the recommendations!! We LOVED this. Had a great bottle of South African cab/merlot mix. Loved all the different items, had a few tastes here and there.

HOpefully we'll get to go back again! Any questions, will be happy to answer!
Enjoy planning your trips!

Great reviews. Thanks for taking the time to write them. Your review on the House of Blues is just a little disappointing. We're supposed to have lunch there tomorrow. I hope the Jambalaya is still good. :scared:

I should know better to read food reports when I haven't had dinner yet!
Thanks so much for your report :sunny: .

I wished I had eaten at Rose and crown, bet it wa s better then the pot roast I had at prime time , made me sick

Thanks for the great review of Alfredos. I have it for our CP package on 12/6. I'm a little nervous about it because it doesn't always get good reviews. We decided to try something different this year, we always do LeCellier.

Thanks for the great reviews. I will have to make sure we get back to Alfredo's. The last time we went there (almost 2 years ago) I had been sick the night before so I only ordered a salad. But I LOVE alfredo sauce. Will have to give it a try there.

Lexieefern: The interesting thing about the Fetuccini Alfredo sauce is that it is not at all like our "Americanized" version of this dish. I loved it so much I looked up the recipe on the allearsnet site...and the recipe is so simple, it only involves a high fat butter (the brand is called PLUGRA), and reggiano cheese! No cream or eggs! I can't wait to try to make this dish for company.

I started to laugh at myself as I thought at first you were swearing, the **** before an eatery until my afternoon coffee kicked in and realized they were stars for rating.lol
