Got back on Sunday night. We spent 3 days at OKW followed by 4 days at Vero. 12 of us in all - us, our 2 girls, in-laws, SIL and her 5 kids.

To sum the week up - it rained...every day.

The days at WDW, it started raining around 5pm and let up after an hour or so. The Vero days, it started in the early afternoon and pretty much kept raining into the evening. We rented alot of movies. We had lightening, thunder, pooring rain, flooded sidewalks. We tried to make the best of it.

Our high points -
-we did 4 parks in 2 days. We spent 1/2 at each and just commando toured and did the biggies.
-treated our family to Hoop Dee Doo
-my DH and the older kids did e-ride from 11-2 on Tuesday night and had a ball
-at Vero we spent several hours by the pool each morning before the rain
-on our 10th anniversary, my DH surprised me with a well-planned vow renewal at Vero followed by dinner for the 12 of us in a private room

Lows-

-Rain, rain, rain. We were wet and hot the whole week.
-Crowds - Splash had a 110 minute wait, Space was 60, Peter Pan 45, Pooh 60. We did fastpasses where we could and were forced to skip the others.
-all the rain made the ocean very cool and gray - unlike last year when it was a beautiful turquoise color and we were able to swim in it

Any questions????

I'm sorry to hear it was so soggy for your visit. I keep watching the weather channel hoping next week will bring a little less percipitation but I guess that's what you can expect in August. Oh well.

Can you tell me more about your experiences at OKW? How as transportation? Which building did you stay at? Did you have any requests and were they met? Did you eat at Olivia's? Take the boat to Downtown Disney? Thanks so much. We leave in a few days and I'm so excited!

This sounds very nice.... Who needs good weather on their wedding night??? :teeth:

just back from Vero also, 8/7-8/11, had a great time, they try real hard to keep the kids happy during the rain. We had rain, rain, and more rain, thunder, lightning, and don't forget the tornado warnings!!! one 3 miles south and one 3 miles north!!! Plus the one that hit in the West Palm area!!! All in all had a great time and can't wait to go back!

ZerasPride-

OKW was very nice.

Busses were a mixed bag. On Monday morning, we attempted early entry at AK - which would have been 8am. We were at the bus stop from 7:45 until 8:35 watching every other bus except AK go by. That was pretty frustrating. By the time we got to AK it was 8:50 and there were just letting everyone in. Mid-day we went to MGM and had no trouble getting a bus back that night. Tuesday morning we went to Epcot and the bus was there within 5 minutes. Mid-day we went to MK, and that night we had some bus issues. We left MK at 8:45 or so as the parade was going on. We were the only ones on the bus and the driver asked us which stop at OKW we needed. We told him Hospitality House, but he still drove ALL over OKW - which took about 20 minutes from the entrance to OKW to get to our stop. The best part - he didn't pick up or drop off anyone at any stop. So, we just kept driving past empty bus stops.

We were in building 11, which is right across the street from the Hospitality House. It was perfect. My FIL is in a wheelchair, so we requested a close building and got it. Our only other request was that our rooms were near each other and my in-laws were 2 doors down from us.

We didn't eat at Olivia's but my in-laws did and really enjoyed it.

We didn't do the boat to DD.

Hope that helps...
