Hi Everyone,

We just got back from 7 nights at the WL. We got upgraded to concierge level! What a nice surprice!

Weather was beautiful and not very crowded at the parks.

Hi Welcome back!
We were there on Sunday!! I had my ribbon on but did not see any on my trip!:(

Welcome back and hope you are not TOO depressed about coming home... Start planning the NEXT trip!

My family is going to the WL for 4 nights in June. First visit (to the Villas) and I am SO excited. Did you hang out at the resort a lot? I hope to have some down time while we are there to enjoy the Lodge itself. Did you like the pool? I am thinking my children will love it.

See you at WDW!

Hi,

What did you say when you were told you were upgraded to concierge? You must have been thrilled.

How were the food offerings? did you make good use of the food/lounge area?

Thanx and welcome home

>>^..^<<

You were lucky, do you know how you got concierge or was it just luck? :D

Was Randall still working in concierge? We're old buddies. :)

Honeychild, they messed up our room requests and I told the CM it was unacceptable and wanted to speak to a manager. We had 2 rooms (connecting) our DD brought a friend. They only had a2 rooms across the hall. Who in their right mond would allow 2 15 year old girls there own room across he hall?? The manage aplogized and gave us a suite in conciege level at the cost of only 1 room. (SWEET!) We only have 1 bathroom but it was worth it!

***********, no Randall working during our stay.

Gail T Again, I guess it was luck and a bit of our expressing our needs.

Colleen Costelo, Yes we had lots of time to enjoy the WL. The parks were empty so we did so much in a short amount of time. The themed pool was busy, probably due to the parks being empty. We used the quiet pool over at the WLV most of the time -- that was empty. The themed pool is great but with 2 teens they wanted to sun and read.

>>^..^<<, I was happy, but really didn't know at first if this was a good deal. Remember, we had 2 rooms, privacy and 2 baths. It ended up great! The food was very good and we only ate out 2 times.

Anymore questions, I am happy to help!

DisneyJoe, they loved the WL! The WL Resort is small so I wasn't too worried with them roaming to gift shop or pools. They loved the idea of needing a room key in the elevator to get to the 7th floor and the conceirge staff made them feel very special.

If I could have stayed at the BC/YC or BW for the same price as I paid for the WL -- or $$ was no object then I would have stayed at one of these Epcot Resorts. Since we frequent WDW, I went for the best deluxe deal, I could find. With teens those resorts, have more going on at night. We tend to visit Epcot and MGM more that the MK.

We have stayed at the WL 5 times now, and love it!

O.K. I know this is a dumb question...I've asked before, but nobody has answered me! What is the concierge level? I mean, I know what a concierge is, but what kind of "extras" do you get for staying on this level? I have never stayed at a deluxe resort before as we have always stayed at the ASMo, so I don't have any experience with this...We are staying at WL for a very large family reunion in Aug. 2004, and may be interested in the concierge level...

Kirsten's Mommy, don't feel silly for asking. I knew what "concierge" meant but always thought these were stuffy men with French accents working at upscale NYC hotels! I have learned here that concierge service does, indeed, include a concierge. You check in separately and they are at your service -- to make reservations, priority seating and the like. They can supposedly get reservations that are "sold out" as they are CM's and have a connection.

Concierge Level accomodations at WDW also include FOOD. All throughout the day there is food offered in the private concierge lounge, ranging from continental breakfast to snacks all afternoon and desserts, goodies and even after-dinner drinks. Reports here vary but some people are so happy with the concierge-lounge food that they skip some meals out. Concierge rooms are often on a separate floor or area, so no one but other concierge-ers can lurk in these lounges.

I have never stayed at concierge level but I am an obvious wannabe! Someday... :)

Thanks for the info!!! (and for not making me feel silly for asking!) We are planning a trip for a family reunion that will consist of about 50 people, so I figure this is probably a once in a lifetime thing, since our parents are getting older and such. Also, we live in Savannah,GA, but my husband is from Lincloln,NE and his whole family is coming down from NE and Iowa for this...soooo, I figured we'd splurge since we have over a year to save for it!!! Thanks again for the info, and I hope you get there!!!

I have a question...Only eating out 2 times? What kind of food was in there????? I thought it was just like fruit & cheeses. Can you list what you can remember of the offerings? Maybe we'll live the highlife next stay.....Thanks in advance for your response!

Hello Catheren,

I am thrilled that you had a great time!

Welcome back!

At the WL, the concierge level is located on the 7 th floor with rooms and suites. It is accessed only by inserting your room key in slot in elevator.

Once you get off the elevator the concierge desk is staffed with 2 or 3 CM's who great you (arriving and leaving). They will book your PS, or anything else you need. There are daily papers on coffee table -- from all over. You get a USA today outside your room. The room has bathrobes, a small fridge and turn down service at night.

Offerings:

7AM to 10AM, Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, 6 different kinds of individual boxes cereal, packets of oatmeal, fresh fruit salad, 2 to 3 different kinds of muffins, croissants, bagels, butter, cream cheese, jams, peanut butter. They had carafes of milk in a bucket with ice, juices apple and orange and large bottles of italien water in ice buckets.

11AM to 3PM, Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, gummi worms, pretzels, 3 types of cookies, peanuts, croissants and muffins. Ice Tea and lemonade.

5PM to 7PM, Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, veggie platters with dips, cheese and cracker platters, crustless PB&J sandwiches, peanuts, a different soup each night (i.e. ministrone, tomato basil, stew) and a different entree each night (i.e. baked ziti, roast pork w/ mac/cheese, chix broccoli saute) A good selection of wine was set up. A large bucket with ice had soda and juice pacs.

9PM to 10PM, Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cordials (i.e. grand marnier, baileys), wines, desserts.

Glass, china and silverware, paper napkins. Disposable cups and covers.

If there was anything they did you have out, you just asked.

They provided us daily with bottled water for parks, cartons of milk which we put in the refrig for kids in afternoon or at night. Cans of soda when we hung out at the pool.

It was a great experience!

OK -- next question. Does concierge add a specific amount on to the price of the room, or is it sold "per person" since 2 people would eat up less concierge goodies than a family of 4 or 5? Can these rooms be used with codes, say, add $100 a night to whatever the discount room price is? Or do you pay "rack rates" always?

It seems like there is enough offered in snacks alone to make concierge a great deal IF it isn't TOO expensive... It would be so nice to have a mini-meal available whenever you were too tired to go somewhere to eat!

Thanks!

I think we may just do this!!! It sounds great!!!!!!!! You were soo lucky you got upgraded for free! Thanks soo much!!!!! I'm going to print out your post so my DH can see!

We are very interested in staying at WL and are very appreciative about all the info. but we still have one question - How is the transportation? We have read so many negative reports we have passed up on WL, how was your experience?

Thanks for the information. Wel will be there in 7 days. I can't wait!
