Dh, 2 DDs (5 & 8) and I visited the WL 12/3-12/11-what a beautiful hotel!! We had a relatively quick check in-bunk beds, nonsmoking woods view (rm. 4116). We were hoping for a North wing, but ended up in the South wing-we overlooked the area between the lodge & the villas-it was pretty, but not incredible.

We loved the look of the lobby with all of the Christmas decorations-and loved the overall look and feel of the hotel. I'm hoping we got a nice picture of our girls with the CHristmas decorations in the background to use for Christmas cards this year!! We'd definately stay there again. We swam everyday (record high temps. that week) and loved the pool & hottubs (esp. after a long day at the parks).

We bought the mugs-what a great deal with all of the coffee/soda/lemonade/hot chocolate we drank over 9 days!!

My only main complaint was transportation-one day we waited for the bus to Animal Kingdom for 45 minutes-and that was at 8am-so lots of people were also waiting (ended up with a full bus & didn't have to go to the GF). The CM who was outside writing down bus info. was pretty upset about the wait as well-he had called in to transportation after a whole group of us had been waiting for 25 mins. or so, and by 45 mins. seemed really irritated. The bus for Downtown Disney also took quite awile-I think between wait time and traveling there it took about 1 hour 20 mins. The boats seemed more reliable, but it would be more convenient to stay at a monorail hotel-but even with that being said, we did love the hotel and would stay there again!!

Any questions?

Thanks for the report and update. I think transportation will be a problem at many WDW reports from now until new years. May even get worse during Christmas week. For resorts such as WL and AKL, resorts we love and will be staying at, expect longer waits. I think we will just use our car.

Again thanks for the report.

teeheehee
we were at the bus stop at the same time as you guys were
and noticed that you were all calling for AK from that phone....
In all honesty I think that i distracted the guy writing the notes
by talking to him the whole time while we were patiently waiting for
the TTC bus...

kinda funny we were there with ya.

Unfortunately, monorails don't go to AK or DTD, so that wouldn't help you with your transportation issues, you'd still be riding busses. Glad you had a nice time otherwise though!

Glad you had a good time at WL -- I was getting a little frightened reading some other posts on board about WL.

Thanks.

I don't mind waiting for a Disney bus! It's still better than being at home.

I am glad you had a good time! We were there 12/4-12/10 and had a wonderful time! I can't really comment on the buses because we rented a car and drove everywhere except MK. We really enjoyed taking the boats! We will definately be staying here again someday! :flower1:
