This was my second stay at Pop and I love it, got all my requests 4th floor Building 1, I was surprised since I arrived Thanksgiving evening. We had requested freshly laundered blankets and bedspreads and we got them. The room was very clean, housekeeping was great room was vaccumed everyday, we got a couple of towel animals.

Food court was great, Parmesan Crusted Chicken was soooo nice, as was the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. CM's were very nice nothing was too much trouble, never waited more than 10 mins for a bus. Never saw anyone smoking outside of the designated areas.

A wonderful stay, Pop is the best :thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear a good report. We stayed at the Pop in June '07 for 7 days and loved it. We usually stay off-site and this was something special. We had no complaints except for the wait-time back to Pop after Fantasmic. We would go again. :goodvibes

Thanks for the report! Heading down there Saturday so always nice to hear things are running well!

I love that buttermilk fried chicken...:goodvibes

We love POP too! Althought WL is my favorite for a value resort POP is always what we choose! Always get great service there! I am heading that way in 3 days!

I am taking my daughter who is 3 for a special trip, just she and I. We are staying in a standard room. Any room/location requests I should ask for? I'm sure we'll be playing in the pop jets and on the playground too! Would you recomend a top floor for quiet, or a bottom floor for ease??

Glade to hear you had such a great trip. I would also like to know who you made the request to for freshly laundered blankets and bedspreads and shouldn't it be the norm for fresh linen to be used when new guests arrive?

I booked my trip through Dreams Unlimited, as I have my past 3 trips and I have always gotten all my requests. My DU agent Beth also added the freshly laundered blankets and bedspread request. We requested this because of allergy issues.

This time our room was overlooking the carpark which at first I was not happy about but it turned out to be great, it was very quiet, a lot quieter than last trip when I overlooked the pool, even being on the 4th floor it was still loud at night.

No way would I want a first floor room IMO would be to noisy especially if facing the pool. And being on the 4th floor we could see Illuminations the nights we were back from the parks early.

Don't really want any flames for this but I really HATED Pop, I just returned this afternoon, I waited to long to get ressies for POFQ or POR or for that matter WL. I am not by any means a hotel snob but the minute I walked into the room I hated it, it just looked rundown and dirty ( I never took my socks off in the room ) I was in the 70's building and it felt like I had a hike to the food court and even worse to the parking lot, The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows horrible, the bed actually had a dip in it like 2 300lb people had been sleeping in it, the next night I tried the other one and it was just as bad.I will never stay there again......I would rather stay offsite then here. I will say that the housekeepers and all the CMs were nice, it just is not my cup of tea. I realize it is a value but for the life of me I don't know how 4 people could be comfortable in there!

This was my third stay at Pop.. My sister and I were there from Nov. 26th till Dec. 4th.. CM's at check-in were very pleasant.. For those requesting info on DSA's, the CM's were advising them that anywhere along the lake and the "bridge to nowhere" were perfectly fine for smoking - whether there were ash trays available or not - as well as the marked DSA's.. They suggested bringing towels from your room to dry off the benches in the morning and/or after rain storms because they don't assign people to dry them off..

I was totally thrown off guard though when we were assigned to our room.. Earlier in the week I had to call to request a disabilities room because upon arriving in Florida where my sister currently lives, I found my sister's health had deteriorated to the point that I was going to have to rent an ECV for her from Randy's Mobility.. When we got there we were assigned to a 2nd floor room in the 50's building and told to leave the scooter outside the room.. Nope - not happening after I have just signed a paper from Randy's making me financially responsible if it's damaged in any significant way or damaged by rain.. (Not to mention it would make it impossible for other people to get by with luggage carts; housekeeping with their carts; etc.) So - I went inside the room and moved the table and chairs so we could get it inside.. My sister manages to wiggle it in the room and suddenly I find we are in a dirty room that hadn't been cleaned.. (Fresh food garbage in the baskets; dirty bars of soap; dirty wash cloths; wet towels on the bathroom floor; etc.) I had also requested a fridge for my sister's medication that wasn't there.. Called the front desk (luckily I hadn't dragged all our luggage up there yet) and they apologized and sent someone to move us to the third floor.. Checked the room - it was clean - moved the furniture again - and my sis wiggled the EVC inside.. Waited and waited for the fridge - finally called down to the desk 3 hours later and found they never transferred the request to the new room.. However, I will say they delivered it promptly after I called..

Other than that, our stay was fine and I (we) were very happy with our stay there.. We met the nicest people and had some of the most interesting conversations.. :) I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.. I think the dirty room was just a "fluke" and I should have checked it myself before moving the furniture around.. (I always check the rooms first in other hotels/motels - guess I just took it for granted that I would never run into a room that hadn't been cleaned on Disney property..)

I only saw 2 people smoking in areas where they shouldn't have been smoking and both times it was raining.. I'm sure if the DSA's were under some kind of cover, the smokers would have been more than happy to use them..

Was really surprised at how crowded the parks were at this time of the year though (was there last year the 1st week of December and the crowds were much, much smaller).. Guess the "word is out" that it's a quieter time and now it's no longer a "quieter" time..

Still happy with Pop and will stay there again in the future..:thumbsup2
