We just got back on Saturday the 17th after a 9 night stay. We were at AKL Kidani Village in a 1 bedroom Villa. Savannah view room. We loved it. It was really nice. The room was clean and very comfortable. My kids loved seeing the animals out the balcony. My husband didn't love it. He thought the whole hotel was just to dark. He went to lobby one am at 6am and was annoyed he couldn't work anywhere because lack of lights and no coffee. But that was his only complaint. My daughter and I loved getting all the beads from the activities around the resort.

The crowds were SO manageable. I am glad we tried this time of year for that reason. MK was the only park that saw longer waits for rides. One morning we were there at 9am and another 8am and we rode everything we wanted to in the first couple hours and used our fast passes. It never really seemed over crowded though at any point. Except it took 30 minutes to get our food at QS Pinocchio Village Haus which was a bit annoying. Way to slow for a QS and it was like 1:00. At all the other parks the crowds were super low. We didn't wait in hardly any long lines saw most of the characters we wanted too.

My DD 7 and I went back to AK one evening after MK from 6-9 and it was great. We walked right on Kali two times, Primeval Whirl twice, Triceratop spin and EE once. It was pleasant walking around with hardly anyone else there. We ate QS Yak and Yeti which was good and quick.

The heat. Now thats my problem. I knew it would be hot were from VA. No one got burnt, we all drank water but it was HOT HOT HOT. It really made it hard to just walk around and enjoy Disney. We felt like we were just going from place to place to try and get in AC or wait in the shade for a ride. There was no just casual walking around taking it in because it was so hot. It was really hard on my 4 year old. He was really crabby a lot of the time and I think its because of the heat. My DD 7 was great she didn't complain once. As much as I enjoyed the low crowds I'd never go again in the heat like that. We only used pool once and just bc no one really wanted too.

We ate a lot of food. Some great, some ok. Really liked 1900 Park Fare dinner. Characters were awesome there. Tucker house breakfast and Boma was decent food. Crystal Palace food was ok too. Had some yummy goodies at Epcot. The dark chocolate sea salt caramel from Germany was ridiculous!! I wish I had bought 10. Didn't like San Angel Inn. I didn't really know what to order from Menu. Not typical mexican like around here. I didn't like what I got at all. Teppan Edo was really good. A bit different than our Hibachi grills here in VA but it was good.

All in all it was a great trip. We all had fun. Went on a lot of rides, met good characters. Nothing bad happened. No rude Cast members, the parks and bathrooms were all really clean. We rent a car which we will always do. We just find we move much faster and enjoy that. My DD and I did use the bus a few times when her and I stayed longer and went back to parks with the boys. The bus isn't awful but you def have to wait and the bus drives a lot slower than cars. I think next time we will stay at GF or Poly. But DH says not for 5 years. I think I can talk him down to 3 ;)

Thanks for the report! I love hearing little tidbits about everyone's vacation. Gets me excited for our own trip in just a few weeks!!

Thanks for this bit about the heat. Been trying to plan for next year and I couldn't imagine Sept. temps being that much different than July. We were dying in July. I'd really like to go when it's not deadly.

Yeah it was bad. I can't imagine it being hotter in July then it was. The early morning the humidity was the worst then as the day went on it just got hotter and hotter. A few days it would be ok in the shade with a breeze but that was very rare.

We were there same week and we are stymied about the complaints of the heat. It wasn't bad at all to us...but we live in NC and are used to heat I guess. My parents were with us from NY and they had a hard time with the heat.

Thank you for your report.
I am planning to go the same time next year and have been stalking the Lines app and the MDE app for wait times.
Glad you had a great trip!

We were there 8/31-9/11. I agree that the balance of MK crowds vs. all other parks is significant. More than I remember in the past. But loved the low crowd levels- we always go around this time and I can't imagine it any other way.

I agree about AK! We were there on 2 Friday evenings (one with 11pm closing and one with 9pm) It was like a ghost town both weeks. I have never seen AK so empty- it was great! My kids were trying to go for the Kali record (which they were told was 22 rides in a row)- they weren't even making people get off the boats. They didn't get the record, ran out of time- but definitely one of the highlights of the trip for them. And AK is so much more pleasant once the sun goes down! No waits for anything at all, including Mickey and Minnie! My kids had a great meet with them b/c we were the only ones there.

Overall it sounds like you had a great time!

Thanks for the trip report! I agree... we went in Sept. a couple years ago and it was HOT. A person definitely moves slower when it's that hot.

We just got back this morning from a weekend at the world, and as the original poster said, it was so very HOTTTTT there this weekend. The sun seemed so much more intense than usual and sweat just poured down from us, especially yesterday in EPCOT. MK was really crowded on Saturday too, but we expected that since it was bookended by MNSSHP on Friday and Sunday nights.
Glad you had a great trip!!

It's the humidity. South alabama here. Last week seemed hot as it's been all summer. Hitting 98-99% every day. It was bad.

We just got back on Saturday from two weeks there and I couldn't agree with everyone more ... it was so hot! We usually go this time of year and it is always hot but it felt like there was a lot more humidity this year. So happy that we were staying at Riverside and could use the quiet pools late at night. Want to make sure I point out, despite the heat, we had an awesome time.
