Just returned yesterday from 6 nights at YC water view room and 1 night at GF renovated room (pictures for GF posted on GF thread). Link below post #5708:

We did stay one night at WL beginning of stay as we got a better flight on Saturday July 7 then we could on Sunday July 8 out of BWI. We liked WL, we received an upgrade to a bunkbed room, although the first floor room looking towards the Villas pool was not great (but we had booked a standard view and it was only for one night). We found the room to be very dark, I am sure courtyard view or upper floors are much better.

We had a wonderful time, early to the parks, back to resort by 1:30, pool time and out again in the evenings for dinner and more parks. We also attended late evening hours for Typhoon lagoon Saturday, July 7, it was great, little to no wait and early opening for Blizzard Beach on Friday morning 8:00 - 10:00 AM, same thing little to no wait it was great.

We used TGM and glad we did, he was right on with the park info. Again our longest wait was 20 minutes at Great Movie Ride and when RR broke down. We used Fast Passes a lot at all of the parks.

We had some great meals:

Briefly: thumbs up for Coral Reef, Rose and Crown and Concourse Steak House. Cape May Cafe was very crowded and O.K. for a Buffet (although my DH really like this buffet). This year we were disappointed in service (being rushed) at LeCellier. We were to eat at Spoodles, but were not happy with the menu changes and opted for Yacht Club Galley that evening and the food and service were good.

We used Gargen Grocer to deliver water, apples, bananas and breakfast bars. The fruit was fresh and delicious, delivery was on time and Bell Services held our order.

Our view from room #4175 at YC overlooking back entrance.

someone had asked about extra storage, here is the chest of drawers at the entrance to the room, plenty of drawer space.

I would be happy to answer any questions. Now I really must finish my laundry!

Thanks for the post. We are staying at YC first time in Feb. and I just can't wait :yay:

I was so excited reading your post I sent it without finishing it :rotfl: . The pics were great!

Thanks for the review, I loved the Beach Club last summer.

We plan on doing the late EMH at Typhoon Lagoon. How long did you stay, it's open until 11:00pm on the night that we are going, but we won't stay that late. ;)

We actually arrived at Typhoon Lagoon around 6:00, it was still a little crowded. The boys did the wave pool and we did Crush and Gusher and Shark Reef, had some dinner and by 8:00 the park quickly emptied. The lifeguards cleared the wave pool at 8:00 and then it reopened to only those with wristbands shortly after. We were able to do the rest of the park and we left by 9:30. It was a lot of fun and having the resort guests only in this case really made a differnce!

Glad you enjoyed them! Have a great trip in February. We just got back and are trying to plan our next trip....sad, but true.

Thanks!! Hopefully the thunderstorms will stay away! :thumbsup2

I may get bashed for this but...

the new Poly rooms look SO much better than the YC rooms. I wonder when they are going to get a remodel??

The carpet and bedding looks old to me in those pics...the room seems much smaller to me too...but it could just be the picture.

I am glad you had a great stay I just wish they would put in the flat screens, new furniture and carpet at the YC...

your view is great though!!!

I LOVE the new Poly rooms but I really have to disagree with you... I think the YC rooms still look great :thumbsup2

No bashing here, I think the Poly rooms are bigger, we stayed there last year in Hawaii Magic Kingdon view (now that's a view!) and the rehabbed rooms are great.

I am sure the YC/BC is due for a rehab. We stayed there first time January 2001 and by our next trip November 2001 the BC had been rehabbed. So, it has probably been 5 years since the last rehab there, but our room at the YC was in great condition. Maybe BC / YC is next to get those flat screens!

we were at Tl that night and at BB that morning we waited in line for 15 minutes at BB before it opened....we probably just missed you

we had 15 minute waits too we used UG. The Great Movie Ride seemed to take forever and then we left the line because fantasmic was coming up for us.

Just an FYI Crushin Gusher is not open after 8pm, because that area isn't lighted.

YCNan - Do you recognize these two? ...my younger son actually had a scrape on his forehead and nose from the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon, maybe you saw us and didn't even know!

yc22.jpg

We did see a boy with bandaids on his nose and forehead...was that one yours?

I can't say that I do remember seeing them, I'll ask the kids tomorrow if they saw them.

I'll try to download some pictures soon...and see if you recognize my 3.

No bandaids, it wan't bleeding, just scraped. We took him to first aid to have it cleaned. You never know, maybe I will recognize your children. I did attach a green tie to my pool bag and green gimp to our sack pack, but I had no comments...thought I might run into a DISer or two, but no luck!

hmmm, my pool bag was LIME green and we usually found 2 chairs under the palms on the sand by the kids pool, eventho we spent more time in the other pool areas.

I looked for lime green bows/ribbons but did not notice any.

Welcome Back!! I loved the pictures. The YC is one of our favorites and we hope to stay at Christmas. We just got back too but we stayed at POP and had a great time. We had dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse, can you say fabulous??;)

We were at SAB several afternoons, but not until around 3:00 PM. Mostly sat directly to the left after getting towels and checking-in to get wristbands and then grabbed any lounge chair available!
