Just back from 6 nights at BLT ... it was (mostly!) better than we even expected!

OP - Did you find the hallways to be noisy with folks going to the walkway? We own at BLT and when we toured it last mth, DH said he hopes to never stay on that floor. Of course it makes for quick access to CR!

I'm sorry, I think I wrote about our room location in a confusing way. We were on the 4th floor of the BLT, but the walkway to the CR's 4th floor is actually BLT's 5th floor! So our room was the first one past the 4th floor elevators. That area on BLT's 5th floor was very hub-bubby (is that a word?) but the rooms are actually a bit of a distance away from the elevators, so I don't think it would be an issue.

We actually found it to be very quiet at the resort. We never heard anyone in the hallways, and the only time I ever noticed any sound in our villa was if I happened to be standing at the vanity doing my hair or makeup and the folks in the villa above were filling their whirlpool tub. Other than that, it was extremely quiet.

There is a fair amount of traffic in the lobby, and they had a lockoff two-bedroom open often for tours, and that was very busy, also. And it seemed that we were never alone on the sky bridge -- lots of traffic there. But again, once we entered the true "guest areas" where the rooms are, it was very peaceful. :)

Hi There.

Was your room a Lake view? If so, could you actually see the lake? Your picture shows the resort but not a lake view. I am concerned about being on the lower floors with a Lake view. I really want to see some water!! But I want easy access to the CR. So I don't know what to request for our two LV studios!!

Thanks!

I'm so sorry! I was having trouble w/my laptop and couldn't find the other photos. Here is the view straight out from our balcony:

And here is the view to the right:

I emailed MS before we left and requested a lower floor on the inner courtyard, and that's exactly what we got! :thumbsup2

Hope that helps! :)

Our housekeeper must be an overachiever, LOL! Eager to clean and a little overzealous with the room deodorizer, LOL! ;)

I thought I'd post a quick photo of the view we had, too ... we were the first villa in the hallway, so we didn't have a "shared" balcony at all.

Shared balcony? What is that?

Shared balcony? What is that?

What I meant is that our balcony didn't abut another one. In the photo, you can see divider walls between two balconies; that wasn't the case with ours because we were in the first room in the hallway.

Glad you had a great trip.

We hope to try BLT next year.

Please can you tell me where the BLT bridge comes into the main CR Tower building? Cannot get my head around it!

Thanks
Mandy :)

The bridge leaves BLT's 5th floor by the south bank of elevators. You go out a little breezeway and across the bridge, and then it ends just outside the CR's 4th floor/Grand Canyon Concourse by the outside stairwell.

You walk a little further in a covered area and then go inside the CR. You end up at the north end of the Concourse, where Fantasia Market is and where the monorails enter coming from the MK (opposite end from where Chef Mickey's is).

HTH a little! :)

We stayed at BLT a few weeks ago & definately noticed the "new" smell.

New carpet, new paint, new furniture, etc. but nothing I would consider deoderizer. Wood, leather, laminate, glue/adhesives, etc. can have overpowering scents & when layered on top of each other... who knows :confused3

FWIW, if a mousekeeper knocked while the DND sign was out I think I would've had to notify the manager. Unacceptable as far as I am concerned. We keep ours out specifically on T&T day & check out day. On T&T, our mousekeeper was at her cart next to our room as we were heading out. I told her not to worry about us. She asked me if I would initial her log sheet so her supervisors would know she was in fact there (which I had no problem doing) & no one would come back later.

Yup, the hallways definitely had that nice "new hotel" smell. Totally different than what was in our villa. That's why we figured it was definitely deodorizer.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at BLT except for the smell.

The morning we were checking out of SSR last month our Mousekeeper was sat on the floor outside our room waiting for us to leave at 10am  We also had our DND sign on the door. We didn't want to leave until 11am as we knew we would have to wait for our room to be ready at BLT where we were checking in that same day.

Oh, my! I can't imagine finding the mousekeeper on the floor outside the room! At least she was being considerate about the DND sign!! :rotfl:

I felt that bad seeing her sat outside I let her in so she could make a start on cleaning the bathroom and making the bed (I'd already stripped all the bed linens off it). We were only in a studio so it wasn't like it was going to take her ages to clean the room (we are not a messy family) :confused3

This reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where the car valet had BO and it stuck to the car, Jerry, and Elaine's hair. At least it wasn't BO. :rotfl: Anyway, glad the rest of your trip was good!

That was beyond BO. It was BBO!

:rotfl:
