Just Back From 5 Nights at AKV

This is really poor procedures when it comes to the fire alarms. I can tell you that it definitely would not be a test unless they were including an evacuation. The life safety code says that when the fire alarm is activated the building should be evacuated. In my state only the fire department is allowed to reset the alarms and the “property owners get fined if they have more than 3 false alarms just so people do not get complacent. I am sure if someone had called the fire marshals office then the management would have gotten a good “talking to” at least.

This sure gives every indication that the life safety code is not taken seriously. Good to know for the future.

If I roll up on a automatic alarm and the building is not evacuated you can bet as officer in charge once I know it is a false alarm that the building manger is going to be told that if the structure is not evacuated next time that they will be getting a visit from the Fire Marshall

I am staying in three different values this summer. Should I request a non-handicapped room just in case there are these types of rooms in the value category. I am so glad I read these boards. You all keep me well informed

I'm just curious-why are you staying in 3 different values? Are they all the same size villa? At least one of them studios? If so, I hope you enjoy it as much as I liked my value studio last week.

Does anyone know if Kidani Village will have more than one bus stop?

I've been wondering about that myself. I think that all we can be sure of is that Kidani will have its own bus stop separate from Jambo.... but will there more than one stop at Kidani...hmmmm I just don't know. It does look like the walk to the bus stop can be a long one walk if you are on the extreme far end of Kidani near the new savanna and that is assuming that the bus stop is somewhere near the middle of Kidani near the main lobby.

I agree. With the other hotel-style DVCs there is one stop no matter how long the hallways are. Those DVC resorts share their bus stop with the hotel so at least with AKV they are providing two stops, one at Jambo House and another at Kidani.
