Most of you know how much I love CSR but I gotta tell you that this trip was great all around. The parks were a bit crowded but we had a great time. It was my DD's 10th birthday and Disney just knows how to do things right. From singing Happy Birthday after dinner to the talking trash can at MK singing Happy Birthday to her. I have some letters to write about how well the CM's really do their job. If there reading, Maria, Hugh and Kat, GREAT JOB!

Stayed in cabana 9b, love the location! Pool did seem cooler as a previous poster mentioned. It was 85º + and the water was actually cold.

Pepper Market was great as usually and well as the Disney transportation. Never a wait of more than 5 minutes and only had to stand on a bus once.

If anyone has any questions, let me know

Glad to read you & your family had a great WDW trip! We have stayed at CSR & enjoyed our stays very much. I wouldn't have thought I would like a resort with a Mexican/Southwest theme, but I do!

Welcome back and glad to hear you had a great time again. I am headed down there May 3 and to be frank, I am not off to a great start at all due to reservation troubles.

Was the resort full while you were there and what room category did you have? We are stuck with a standard view after I reserved a waterview. I have been told the resort is sold out and there is no water view rooms available due to the POFQ closing and subsequent guest relocations. Does a standard view fall into the highly sought after buildings 9a and 8b? I could be wrong about those buildings though

Anyway, any details you can give me about the weather during the day and at night would be most appreciated. Just thought of another question... can the resort refillable mugs be used for drinks of the adult nature :smooth: and for soda at the pool bar? One more question, lol, did you happen to notice anyone poolside with those soft sided coolers? I am thinking we may need one for juice and water for my 3 yr old niece.

Hey Buzz welcome back! I have been looking forward to hearing about your stay.

I have a couple of questions for ya........

Is Cabana 9b or 8a closer to the quiet pool?

Did you stay on the 1st or 2nd floor? I just don't know which to stay on. Everything is telling me to stay on the 1st because 1) I am pregnant 2) when we get back for the parks DH will be carrying DD. I am thinking that I will be so tired and swollen that I won't be able to make it up the steps and neither will DH because he will be tired and carrying DD. Although, I know that the 2nd floor will be quieter. Any input?

Did you eat breakfast at the Maya Grill? How was it?

Did you/are you going to update your website with anything?

I forget also, are there pool towels at the Dig Site?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome back! How are the rooms? Some people post that they are showing their age. It's hard for me to decide between CSR and CBR because of the CBR rehab, but I like the idea of a health club at the CSR.

margaritabnl - I'm not sure if it was sold out but there definitely were more people there than any of my previous stays at CSR. At check-in, I turned the corner from the main door and I couldn't believe my eyes. Guests galore! The line was almost reaching the archway near the fountain. But thanks to the CM's the line move quickly. My room on the first floor of cabana 9b (wateview) was not ready (1:30pm) so we had a quick lunch at the Pepper Market. Then we strolled around the resort and came back to the check-in area and it was totally empty. I must have hit a convention arriving or a bus. My room still was ready so she asked me if I wanted a 2nd floor room in cabana 9b (still wateview). I told her yes. I just wanted to put everything in the rooms so I could head out. I think just about every room in cabana 9b is waterview because of the smaller lake behind it.

The weather was great. 85º each day, low humidity and somewhat cool in the evenings. My family was cold watching the fireworks at Epcot because of the breeze off the lake.

We only used our refillable mug for soda and coffee. Yes, you can refill at the pool snack bar and adult bar. Yes, folks had coolers. No glass allowed though. Get there early if you want a table with an umbrella.

maciec - Is Cabana 9b or 8a closer to the quiet pool? Cabana 9b is closer. The quiet pool is located at cabana 9a.

Did you stay on the 1st or 2nd floor? Second floor because that room was ready. Elevators are available in all the buildings so if you get a second floor room, ask to be close to the elevator.

Did you eat breakfast at the Maya Grill? The buffet is very good at the Maya Grill.

Did you/are you going to update your website with anything? Nothing has really changed since my visit in November except that the bus no longer runs to the Boardwalk. Oh, also, another poster remarked about the cold water in the pool. I did notice the water was cooler than ever before...at least getting in. Then it felt fine.

I forget also, are there pool towels at the Dig Site? Yes there are towels.

MermaidsMom - the rooms were fine. I didn't notice any disrepair. We were only there to sleep and change but nothing comes to mind that was very noticeable.

Buzz:

Are there standard rooms in Cabana 9B? I requested 9B for my reservation, but have a standard room. If ther are no standard rooms in 9B, what would you recommend requesting?

Thanks!

:jester:

I would still request 9b. Our reservation was for a standard view room but I requested cabana 9b. At check-in they told me I was upgraded to a waterview room in cabana 9b. That's not a big issue for me because I don't spend alot of time standing out on the balcony looking at the water. I just want to be at CSR and WDW.

I'm sure there are rooms that are considered standard view in cabana 9b. But I would be just as happy in any of the cabana buildings.
