This was our 2nd stay at this resort on club level and a pleasant one. However, I think from now on I will save the extra $60 or so a night and put it towards a fun meal. This is why:

Family of 4. Me, DH, son 14, and son 11. In the morning the kids would get a bowl of cereal, me a bagel, and the husband a pastry. A bottle or two of water and one cup of coffee. In the afternoon they serve a main dish, none of us were bowled over by any of the main dishes served during our stay. Code for we tried a small spoon full and it wasn't pleasing. Every afternoon the same tired offering - nachos, cheese, and crackers. ANd fruit which wasn't even fully ripe. (Beer and wine) In the evening they would have 3 different types of desserts and cookies. Out of 4 nights, we had 12 different main desserts - two of which were okay.

The stay was pleasant and the staff accomodating. However, the offering just weren't there food wise. So no more club at US/IOA. I would rather have an extra meal out at Mythos or Margartiville or something.

Thanks for the info. This will be our second stay at RP and I was wondering whether I should have booked Club Level. Your's is the second post I've read recently saying the extra $$ is not worth it. Thanks for the info.

Great information. Thanks for sharing. Have you posted a trip report?

I have debated and debated on whether to stay club level. I am afraid we would be too confined to a schedule trying to be there for each meal offering. I haven't been able to justify the extra cost either. Maybe I will save my money for Mythos too!

Will you be posting a trip report?

yes I will hopefully be posting a trip report in the next few days. We got to meet Shane Battier (?). He played for Duke for 4 years and now plays for the Memphis grizzlies. he and his wife rode The Mummy with us and my 11 yr old who is a huge basketball fan got to talk to him so it was an exciting trip!!!!

We have stayed at Club Levels before including RPR. I would only place the value on what you would spend on snacks and drinks. We see it as extra food. We like sit down meals way too much and they are more healthy for the kids.

I agree 100%- staying club lounge was nice but the extra $60 per nite..... i just couldn't seem to justify - the kids never liked the evening hot offerings so we basically ate some of the breakfast, had water & beer  and those big cookies

i think the extra $60 could be much better used on sit down meals......

thanks for sharing
