We had a great time on the cruise and it was fun to run into everyone at Scoops. We especially enjoyed meeting SINK and his wife and as it turns out we were seated at the same table!

This was a strange cruise because we had extremely unusually high seas the first two days and not the best weather the rest of the time. Our server said that it was the first time ever in three years that she got seasick. It was very rough and our daughter didn't fare well. Anyhow, we had to skip Key West due to rough seas but we made it back there on Thursday. We also didn't go to Grand Cayman but instead went to Costa Maya. In Cozumel a lot of excursions (including ours for snorkeling and the Fury Catamaran) were cancelled because of rough seas. I thought the crew and captain did a great job with rescheduling ports and activities and shows. They were really amazing.

We had a great time except of course the rough sea day was tough. Please, bring children's non-drousy Dramamine (or something similar). We didn't have any and had to borrow some. The store on the ship ran out. I never expected the seas to be so high and never really expected it to bother us.

Best parts of the trip- our table mates, Castaway Cay, how accommodating the staff is and how responsive they are to change, entertainment (especially the ventriloquist, the juggler, dueling pianos, Disney Dreams, the Farewell Show.) Disney is very generous giving things away such as: pins for kids during the vegetable races, free drinks a few times, free giveaways for kids in the kid's clubs. Incredible debarking- so fast. Get up lateish, have breakfast at Topsiders, then leave any time before 9am. That was great. Cabin size was fantastic. We didn't feel crowded with a family of 4. Dinner at Palo was great. We enjoyed the food there a lot.

Worst parts of the trip- not enough time at Castaway Cay. By the time you go ashore it is 9:30 and they kick you off the beach at 3:30. No lit-up clock in the room.

Things that could be improved- With kids the service at the dining tables seems a little slow. It was hard for my son to sit still. We were often at dinner for close to 2 hours. The entertainment on deck for the big deck parties has the same music a lot. They should have a little more variety of tunes.

Hint: If you want to get all the characters to autograph your book, you can give it to Guest Services.

I'm sure I'll think of more to write later. Questions?

Did you attend any theme nights like the 50, 70, 80's or some of the game shows like Match Your Mate??

We heard DCL had to cut one of the shows short due to the rocking of the ship...was it just one show? Also, how was Bingo...did they add extra sessions to fill in for some missed activities?

How did the servers handle all the dishes and things with the ship rocking and rolling!!!!

Glad you had a great cruise!!!

MJ

My husband went to 70's night. They made everyone get up and dance a lot. He had fun.

They cancelled Morty but put it on again during the movie night. That was really great of them.

They did do extra BINGO's. I think the jackpot was over $7000.

I heard that a lot of servers got sick during the rocking boat night. They said a LOT of dishes hit the floor in the kitchen and some on the dining floor.

They gave away a cruise on WWTB during our stay.

We were on the same cruise kgpclark. We did get to meet at Scoops after the Life Boat Drill. It was nice to get to meet some of you from the boards. We kept running into plutojudy and her husband Fred. They are the best!

This being our third cruise this was the most adventerous cruise that we have ever taken. Even though the weather was bad, and yes Sunday night with the really bad swells my husband and I got really sea sick, all the CMs, servers, and such really tried to make this cruise a little better for us. Our DD(6) slept from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. She never did get as sick as us, but was still affected by the bad weather.

Our DD really didn't want to go into the clubs. The last cruise we couldn't get her out of there, this time she was happy just to stay with us.

We did go to the 80's night and it was the best! We really did enjoy ourselves. They have 80's trivia and play all 80's music and videos.

Palos as always was really good. We got to do brunch and dinner. We couldn't get reservations for High Tea. Was on the waiting list, but never received a call to go.

My DH and I got Theraputic Massages. We both hurt after our massages. If you want somthing a little more gentle, you may want to go with a Swedish Massage. We had no problems getting the Spa reservations. We actually had to cancel our first scheduled massages, because they were for Sunday night, and as I stated earlier we were way to sick to go, and we rescheduled without any problems.

Most of our excursions were cancelled. Cozumel we had the Cozumel Beach Break, but we cancelled that oursevles because we went on Monday to Cozumel and we just weren't up to sitting out in the sun after being sick all night. Didn't really matter anyway because it was very cool that day. Disney let us cancel no problem and refunded our money. Grand Cayman we had Rum Point Beach Adventure, which got cancelled because we never got to go there. Key West we had the Glass Bottom Boat Tour. It was kind of boring and we were kind of quesy after the trip. Our DD fell asleep during it. If I had to do it over again, I would do the Old Town Troll or Conch Train Tour, it gives you the opportunity to see the town and plenty of time to roam around afterwards. Costa Maya is where we ended up instead of Grand Cayman and it was really nice. Probably would have enjoyed it more if the weather was warmer.

Our servers, Paulina and Marc, were great. Our room stewart, Ramir (sp) was really good also.

Our table mates were really nice. We had a very nice time with them. All three of our cruises, we have never sat with anyone we didn't get along with. We are fortunate in that respect.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.

Julie

Can you tell me who the performers were at the Dueling Pianos. When we sailed 1/25, it was Fidelio and Jeff. Later I heard Jeff wasn't there, did he come back or did he get replaced.

Thanks,
sue

Fidelo wasn't there, but Jeff was. I can't remember the other guy's name.

The jazz band they had was great by the way.

I am sorry you missed Fidelio, he absolutly ROCKS!! I am glad Jeff is back, he was also very good. Guess they must be taking turns, taking some vacation.

Where was the Jazz band, I don't think we heard them?

Where was that jazz band??? Can you believe I can't remember? It wasn't the lounge or Rockin' Bar D. I just can't remember! I was walking around the ship in the evening and I stopped in to hear the end of their set. There were three guys and they were fantastic!

KPG, nice update...I'm sorry we didn't formally meet, but I think we may have bumped into each other.

We, too, did the vegetable races...I was the "genius" behind Team Rocket, that disaster of a carrot vehicle that wouldn't stay together and no matter now many times the hostess SheShe let me take it to get fixed, it wouldn't stay on the track. When it finally ran, it stopped halfway down the track, along with the car it was racing. Which one were you?

(PM me - I think if you went to HS with Boomer, I may know someone in your class - let me know if I'm on the right track)

I PM'd you regarding Boomer. I remember you WELL from the race! Wasn't that nice of them to give everyone pins?

It is so sad to be home, but at least we arrived safely.

Jeff and Chris were at Dueling Pianos. What a riot they were. We tried to make every show. During the family version they had the kids come up and do jokes. For future cruisers be sure and request a Joe Cocker song from Chris.

HELLO!

We just got home from the April Fools DCL trip as well! I'll have a longer update later, but it was fun to meet you all at the meet, even if it was very short for us.

We had a great time, even with all the schedule switching. Only my husband got sick during the rough seas, which was sad since we were at Palo that night. :( They did pack him a Sufflee' (sp) to go though, which he managed to eat a few bites of.

Anyway, bummed to be back from Disney World and the Cruise, but we are already planning number 5 in 2005 possibly!

Kathy
