Thanks for your top ten list. Sounds like you had a great time. We are going in just over 3 weeks. Can't wait. We were just on the Magic in October, but my whole family gets to go this time.

A couple of questions.

1. Was the water really cold at Castaway Cay?

2. How did you like the house band NTwine? (in Oct they were really new and it showed, I hope they have improved)

3. Did you eat in any of the dining rooms for lunch or go to Topsiders for lunch? Did they have themed buffets at lunchtime? We were disappointed in the lunch offerings in Oct, but would love to hear what you think.

The water was cool, not freezing, but definitely cooler than the previous ports. My kids didn't really play in it, they built sandcastles.

I think the band was High Energy, they were fine.

We only did Topsiders and the pool options for lunch. One of the port days was sushi, one day they had stir fry, one day had a make your own pasta, but I don't remember any decorations though. I really liked all of the Indian and curry dishes at lunch.

I don't think I had the chance to meet you on the cruise. I missed the cruise meet on 2-3 at 3. I met some other people from our group though.

Do you know what days the Tea with Wendy was? I thought it was two of the sea days, but wanted to know which two.

I know positive on Thurs at 4 pm was one, I believe the other was Monday at 4 pm as well. And, it is not in the Navigators. They said it books to fast so they don't print it in the Navigator. Guess it is just word of mouth. When I went to guest services, I also asked what other events were ticketed. I didn't want to miss out on something. The other things at our sailing were the tastings...wine, margarita, beer, etc.

Thanks for the info on the Tea. We do not want to do Thursday since the Princess Signing Party is that day. We like to spread the events out and could not remember which sea day it was on.

What is this I'm hearing about customs at St. Thomas? How does that work?

Because you stopped in a foreign port (St. Maarten) before St. Thomas (which is the USA), you must clear customs and immigration. Customs has decided to do this from about 6:30 am to about 8 am on the ship, so EVERYONE must present themselves to customs in that time frame.
In the pre-September 11th days, Customs would station an agent at the end of the gangway, and you cleared customs and immigration as you left the ship. If you didn't leave the ship, you didn't have to clear customs. Now, everyone has to clear customs, without regard to whether they will be coming ashore or not.

The first time in 10 cruises and found it soooo much better than topsiders. I've seen a lot of reports on the 2/03 cruise and noone mentioned the fact that four people didn't make it back to the ship in St. Thomas.

Joksten, How was the 2nd week of your cruise? Was the weather nice at the ports? Which do you tink is better...eastern or western? We too wondered if those missing people made it bad, I guess not. What a terrible site seeing the Magic pull away as you stand on an island. Of course I wouldn't mind getting left on CC.

Okay...just to once again prove how oblivious I am....I had no idea people were left behind!!

I remember the people being left. I think two of the people may have gotten back on though. I was in my stateroom getting ready for a shower when I initially heard them call off the names on the loud speaker.

Then after my shower (it was around 5pm) I was relaxing on the verandah and noticed there was some kind of commotion going on. When I looked down I saw that the forklift that carries the metal gangway ramps was driving it down toward the RC ship gangway, but there was a couple standing on the sidewalk in front of the DCL entry door with no way to get onboard.

After a few minutes, the little forklift removed the ramp from the RC gangway and brought it back to DCL so the couple could get on. Everybody on the verandahs were cheering and hooting and hollering. It was funny!
