just back from 1st trip home to bcv

We stayed in 2 bdrm DQ room 451. Got a "welcome home" from the front desk staff who were very friendly. We asked for a non- smoking, but none were available. Thankfully 451, though a smoking optional room, had no sign of smoke at all.

The villa was very clean. There were a few "dings" here and there, but nothing too bad.

We loved being able to walk to and from Epcot. Already making plans for next years trip!

Glad you had a great trip. One question. Did you request a non smoking room in advance, when you made your reservation or did you do it at check in?

We requested non-smoking on our reservations. Evidently it is viewed similar to room location requests and aren't guaranteed. I think the dedicated queen reservation limited the numder of rooms available.

Interesting. Did it seem like they were doing the room ready method or did you have to wait for your room?

We checked in around 11:00AM but after we said we could come back later to see of anything opened up we were told that no one was checking out of a non-smoking DQ room that day.

We were given keys even though the room was not yet cleaned.

They were very helpful and said that if we were not happy with the room, they would try to accomodate us some how that night and would be able to give us a non-smoking the next day.
But there was absolutely no sign of smoke in the room (my wife is very sensitive too) and we were fine.

Was your request due to medical reasons? I was told that due to medical reasons a non-smoking room would be given. My family would absolutely NOT be able to stay in a smoking room due to medical reasons for my sons. I even have it noted on my profile that I always need a non-smoking room and have explained why. I hope this doesn't happen to us. We would not be able to stay in a room that someone had smoked in or where there is smoke nearby!
