Just Back from 10 Days at POP!!! Photos Too!

How did you book the dining plan for your daughter...mine is 11 too? Is she considered a adult or child if she is only going to kid's meals.

i thought it looked positively vibrant

and screaming banana yellow is a cool color, imo

i want a mustang gt in that color

or a vw bug

glad you had such an awesome time

we would have booked a 'value' this next trip, but since this is a belated honeymoon trip, we wanted something on the romantic side

I had to book her as an adult. She was charged as an adult at any buffet/pre-plated meals and usually ordered adult CS meals. She had the odd kids meal here and there at the TS places. I didn't figure out costs,etc..... I maybe came out a couple bucks short some days as to what we 'would' have spent OOP, and probably at par or under some days. I just liked pre-paying it and not worrying about it. I am not the type to bother keeping track and getting out the calculator at the end. We had fun, ate what we wanted and if I lost a couple bucks because she had a kids meal, it doesn't matter to me.

your review has gotten me even more excited about visiting the pop this may!! I hope we have as great of an expierience as you had!!

Thanks for your review. I was owwired about staying here as we are booked in March.

To the OP: So glad you had a great time at POP. DH and I always stayed at either the GF, Poly or WL. That is what we were used to for all of those years. In November 2006 we were invited to a Disney Wedding. We were going for only 3 days. We decided at the last minute (work conflicts-we both work in Healthcare-people don't stop getting sick) & the only resort left was All Star Music. Ok-we went & stayed there. We were so surprised at how great of a time we had there. We actually had fun and enjoyed Music alot. Fast forward to October 2007. Dh and I planned a trip to WDW for 5 days. We booked POP. We wanted to try something different. Plus, our TA got us a super deal on the room. I think our flight was more than our room for 5 days. We arrived at POP and instantly loved it. We loved the food court so much. It had everything and more. Yes, it got crowded. We didn't care. (We were in WDW!!Nothing bothered us) The busses were great. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes. Did all of my souvenier shopping in the gift shop. They had eveything I needed.
Our room was close to the main building and pool. We didn't ask for a preferred room but got one anyway. (Bonus for us!!) :cool1: The room was comfortable. It was quiet (tip: at night, close the bathroom door/use a white noise machine if you are a light sleeper. Worked for us superbly!!) and we had a fantastic, fantastic time!!! When DH and I go to WDW, that is where we will stay from now on.
Now, I am going to WDW in 2 weeks w/ my Mom and sister. We are staying at the Contemporary. Mom paid for most of trip. Mom gets to decide where we stay! :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing! We are staying at a value for the first time in March and it was nice to read a positive review!

Yah, honestly we had a fabulous time. We never even closed the bathroom door or had a white noise machine - we just didn't hear anything, and I know we had neighbors the whole time!
I know our neighbors were marathon'ers and probably had wake up calls, and we didn't hear these or any alarm clocks or anything. I half suspected we might hear something.
I think the 'only' thing that might persuade me to upgrade is if I felt a need for some sand and a 'mini beach', but we didn't find we needed one. We did some 'beach time' at typhoon lagoon twice, and also hung out at the GF for a while.
I wouldn't hesistate to stay there again. But next trip is going to be a Disney Cruise - those buses running around made me so jealous!! I am researching now....

Thanks for the report. We will be staying in Sept with 11 people. We will be a little cramped but spend very little time in the room. I am looking forward to staying here.

Thank you so much for sharing your review and pics. We will be staying there in the summer of 2009. DS will be 10 then (where did the time go?). We have stayed at Sports, AKL and BWI before. This will be our first time at Pop. We are all excited about staying there. It seems like an awesome resort.

Thanks for the review OP. We will be staying there May 3-11 and can't wait. Just a quick question about the fridge swap thing...how does that work exactly?
Thanks

Just called and gave our deposit and I requested to get room 5162. We are so excited. We are also looking for a cruise in 2009. My DH doesn't want to go on a cruise so I was thinking maybe a 4 day, but I know we would regret only a 4 day. I'm trying to talk him into a 7 day Western :cheer2:

If you get the room, or one by it, you will be very happy!
We are doing a cruise in 09!

Great pictures... thanks for sharing your trip report. we are going in April staying at POFQ. we looked into the POP but decided against it because we are going during Grad nights and was told that they stay in the Value resorts.

We love pop century, we rented points to stay at OKW in October but when we don't rent points we always stay at POP.

Thanks so much for the room tip. I just booked this morning at POP. I have stayed at all the other values, plus mod and DVC club. This will be the first trip for my new husband and I together, and we won't be in the room much so we opted for POP. Nice to see that it the Disney magic extends to the Values still!
