Well, it's back to the grind after a whirlwind 2 day "bonus" trip on the way home from spring break in Ft Myers.
Stayed at the Dolphin for 81.00/night thanks to Jim's Hotwire thread over on the resort boards.
Crowds were pretty heavy, but manageable with early entry and fastpass.
We pretty much just did our favorite stuff, along with some serendipitous things, which as usual turn out to be highlights of the trip. Who would have thought the girls would go ape over Davy Jones??We went to two performances--after the first, the girls went back to the room and wrote fan letters, which they gave him at the next night's show. He said"oh-is this an invitation to the prom?" Priceless!! DD10 got to limbo down with the acrobats in Africa at AK, then we got pics and autographs.I don't recall the WWTBAMPI host greeting the guests after the show, either; we got pics and autograph. All 4 of us got in the top ten at some point in the game, but no hot seat this time.A cute (DDs said hot)guy got up to 250,000
before getting busted down to 32,000,the girls enjoyed that!
Test Track was closed our entire visit-due to "a huge computer problem" according to a CM.I think there needs to be a Test Track hotline you can call before you trek all the way across the World Showcase to find it closed!!
We did manage to visit all four parks-I'm glad to answer any questions if I can.

Hi,
Sounds like you had a wonderful trip! Quick question, how was your room at the Swan? Did you get 2 beds or just 1? Just curious as we are leaving next week and also got the 81.00 deal from Hotwire. I was a bit concerned that they would put us in the worst room possilbe!! Thanks for any input.

Actually, we got a really nice room. I called the Dolphin the day before our arrival to make sure that we would get 2 beds and a rollaway. The very nice CM said "anything else?"...I said, well..we'd love a great view, if it's at all possible!" He said "we'll do our best". We got a great view of Spaceship Earth, the Eiffel Tower, and the Y &BC marina! The rollaway was in the room when we got there, although when we checked in , the CM was clueless.
I would think you could call the Swan, too. You will LOVE the heavenly beds!Have a great trip!

Hi cressy!

Just wanted to let you know we were there at the same time as you!!! We stayed at the Swan, and went to Epcot on Friday for the first day of the Flower and Garden Festival. We saw Davy's opening concert (5:45), then had dinner at Marrakesh, then got soaked during Illuminations!! On Saturday, we were at AK -- no lines at all!

Hope you had a good time too!

I don't know... am I crazy? We always seem to have the best time at WDW in the rain. We got soaked watching British Invasion, then at Davy's 8:15 concert (Fri night). The kids said"We'd rather be soaked at Disney World than dry sitting in the hotel room!!"
It was pretty chilly too!
We went to AK on Sat,too. Seemed like alot of people there, but no waits for anything-15 minutes for the Safari at 11:45!!Go figure! Fri am at MK lines were pretty short up until about noon-60 minutes for Splash Mt.One really weird thing was that we were among the first to get to Space Mt, and immediately Fastpassed for a second ride--the fastpass time was for 10:10!!That really messed up our usual strategy. Asked a CM about it and she thought it was wierd too,she said maybe because WDW was not expecting a big crowd.
Loved the Flower and Garden displays.
Yes,Deb, we had a BLAST!!!Can you tell? Glad you did too!!

Glad everyone had a good time. We will be going in less than a month.

Have some questions.

When are the concert times? I've read different sites and there are different times shown.

Last year was our first year at the F&G festival. Is there anything new this year from previous years? displays? topiaries (sp?), demonstrations?

Thanks.

Ed

joloco-it seemed like there were alot of people in the parks, but with fastpass and early entry, the lines were real manageable-our longest waits were about 15 minutes.I would think it should be even less crowded now.
As for temps, Friday was very hot early, then cooled off and rained in the eve. Saturday was warm-upper 80's.

betterlatethannever-this was our first F&G in quite a while, so I don't know what things were different-at the entrance to Epcot was a wonderful huge topiary of mickey and Minnie-I'm not sure if that's the one with Minnie swinging or the one at the entrance to WS.There was also a "doggie"maze with topiaries of the dalmations, for kids.We were on such a short trip this time, we didn't have time for any of the demos. Other than the concert,we just sort of took in the overall atmosphere and beauty of the festival.
The concerts were at 5:45,7:00, and 8:15.

Hope you all have a wonderful visit!!
