Stayed at SSR Springs section room 4236 studio

Lets just say the word for the weeek is COLD VERY COLD.

After watching the weather report on Sunday Feb 6th, decided to call contenintal and stayed on the phone for 3 hours with the same customer service lady, she finally got us moved from a wednesday flight to a tuesday flight. Thank you CS lady you saved us from the big bad 15 inches of snow.

We landed at 5 took magical express got to SSR at 6:30, got our keys. we checked in online and went to Turf Club. back to room with the Garden grocer and MAgical Express by 8 pm. That went great. Did i mention the cold.

Made opening for epcot right to soaring baby swap onto the boat ride. Crowds were not that bad everyone had me really upset but it was not bad at all. DID I MENTION THE COLD. rest of the week was cold. crowds got busier on saturday and sunday by like 11 in the parks, but it did not matter cause we made the openings and were ready with fastpasses in hand.

We still had fun but the cold really put a damper on it. We were at animal kingdom on friday and Everset, and that spinny roller coaster were done for over an 1 hour each. Killed the park, everything else was extremely crowded. So we left and experienced community hall for the first time. The kids aged 6 and 2.5 had a blast coloring and painting and doing the arts and crafts

All in all it was a good time as always, just wished the temp was not 33 in the morning and 52 as a high. It was warmer in NJ 1 day

Any questions let me know. I will answer what I can

We were there too (Feb 13-16). Staying in the Springs room 3536. However, we knew on our MK day(s) to walk over to the Carosel section to catch the MK bus to assure ourselves of a seat (I cannot stand being so short). The Carosel bus stop was empty everytime we went over there -- however the bridge from the Springs to Carosel was icey in the mornings.

Saturday (13th) was very cold. However we made due. We were at AK and satyed until 3/4. When we first arrived I thought it was going to be awful (we got there around 10:30), but everything we wanted to see/do had little wait. Since it's just me, the hubster, and the little one we took advantage of single rider lines (at the parks) while someone stayed with Cuddlebug. When the hubster went to ride EE, I took Cuddlebug over to Dinoland to ride the Dinosaur Dumbo like ride. After a 30 minute wait (doubt that we waited that long) and a trip to the bathroom, we met up with the hubster who said he didn't have to wait long in the single rider EE line at all.

However, Monday at MK was h*ll. We got there early and ruled the FP/Child Swap system we have developed but by noon the place was packed. I was || <----- this close to running people over with DD's stroller..

And yes, Sunday/Monday weather was much better (windy on Monday) and we were the crazy ones who got in High Rock Springs Pool on Sunday afternoon.

Wow...both of you...crowds and cold...not a good combination, but you seemed to have weathered it. I guess you're both planning warm weather vacations, next?

Yes. Our next trip is for a week at the end of May beginning of June. However, we will be doing a split stay at BCV/AKV. We usually do one park for most of a day (hop at night), but end up spending most of our time at MK. We really should just make all days MK days .....LOL!

This trip was the first time I EVER saw AND WAITED a 45 minute wait for IASW.....and everyone says they hate that ride/song. Had to do it though, it's one of Cuddlebug's favorites.

At the age of 2.5 Cuddlebug has now become a DVC/Disney park afficinado after 4 trips. She knew the buildings for the rides in Fantasyland before we reached them. While riding the Carosel, she pointed to IASW and said "I want to go on Small World." I was like "How does she know the building?"

Cute! All of our DGC love IASW, and I admit that I'm perfectly happy to take them. Their faces as they watch all of the little children of the world is so precious, I hope to never forget the feeling of just being so happy!!!

DGC's next visit is at the end of June/beginning of July. BWV/VB/BCV

Yes, I know where of you speak, we were there, 2/11-2/15 in the dreaded Carousel Bldg. Of course with, as you say, balmy 35-40 degree weather, we didn't frequent the balcony too much. Still had a good time!

Thanks for the trip report!

Never thought I'd use my ear-muffs at Disney! That's a 1st.

we were all in the same boat this year....went for the 1st 2 weeks of Jan.-and had similiar weather.....it cut down some of our hanging out time, like lounging by the pool- but Disney is still fun, even if it's cold!

I remember being there a few times in Dec. when it was freezing cold. They put out those huge heaters everywhere for folks to huddle around. Brrrr....:thumbsup2

hmm... is Feb normally a busy season?

I traveled 2/11-2/15 and couldn't book a studio nor a 1bd at OKW at the 4 1/2 month mark, ended up having to stay at SSR, so I would say yes. On arrival at SSR, the Carousel bldng. was rather empty but it is a huge resort, but people started arriving on Friday. Thu & Fri night it was cold and there weren't that many people sticking around for the fireworks, Sat & Sun much busier and warmer.

We didn't have any problems with the bus goignto MK from the springs. Maybe becuase we were up so early! Made opeing on a EMH mornign day and then again opening on Sun the 14th. No problems with the buses at all. I guess we were lucky

YUP AUG 29th through sept 4th

boy you don't do half from one extreme to the other one.:scared1:

sorry it was so cold - all of the south is having a cold wave. today it is warmer in Chicago than here....:lmao:

or so the weather report has say.

glad your trip was nice except the cold.

Kids know the darnest thing. Like where every bathroom is at WDW. that has always amazed me... they can't read, don't understand maps - yea they can find the br before I can....

anyway hope your next trip is better. Although it will be so hot and humdity in aug/sept - not sure that is better.

We stayed at AKV last week (2/7-2/13) and while the crowds weren't bad the weather was rather cool. Had a great time, just took it a lot slower and (grasp) we slept in and went to the parks midmorning when it was little warmer. With the low crowds it wasn't too bad. We didn't stay late because of the rain and/or cold weather, but that is OK we are going back in early Oct. Yep we are doing one extreme to the other too. The low crowds make up for it. And it is a 10th anniversary trip. We are staying CL at AKV.
