Just Back!! Exped Everest Open....

I found the drop scarier than the dark part.
We were there Feb 1st. When we spoke to CM in the morning they said they didn't know when it was going to open and that they were shooting a commercial there all day. When we pushed a little harder, they told us to try at Extra Magic hours.
Then 1/2 an hour after the park closed we went and indeed it was open. There was no line, and we just ran through the Yetti museum. We kept saying how we couldn't belive how easy it is ending up. Then we rode it. I screamed like a wimp, but loved itWhen the ride ended everyone clapped their hands. There was an imagineer there and everyone went to shake his hand and say how great it was. I did so as well. We had to each get EE t-shirts (which we wore the next day and they got a lot of attention from CM the next day).

Then we rode it again. This time we had to wait 15 minutes on line. The whole park was there. It was such a surreal feeling because it was the first time it was open to the public that wasn't CM or DVC members. CM all around were so excited.

It truely is an amazing ride.

Then I spoke to someone in my hotel on monday and she said the ride was open all day then, and they rode it 5 times. Twice was good enough for me.

I'm so glad you got to ride it. We got back on the 7th and missed it both times we were at AK. They were doing "soft openings." They would open it and run it for a little while and then close it with "technical difficulies." It was very frustrating.

Expedition Everest was a great thrill ride but in addition to the twists and turns and drops of the ride itself, the Imagineers deserve a round of applause for the fantastic scene that is set in the rooms you go through before getting on the ride. I loved the props and decorations they used to set up the Himalayan mountain expedition theme and lay down the mythology of the Yeti.

I can't wait to ride this ride. My DD is too scared and won't do it so I have to figure out a way the my DW and I can do it together and still keep and eye on DD.
