Just Back - DVC Tidbits

We actually signed "on the dotted line" in 1995 before our first OKW stay and then went for the presentation with the "kids" when we arrived just so we could have our ice cream sundaes and balloon picture. No regrets..... (other than wishing for more points)!! Even better than the sundaes were the free park passes until 2000! Now that would really drive sales for SSR!

If you own at 3 DVC's epect 6 mailings...what a waste.

Yikes, looks like 6 mailings coming our way - if we have co-ownership of the contracts (me and DW), does that mean we would have 12 mailings coming?

Thinking maybe the addition of POR to the boat trips might mean more boat trips and a tighter schedule

Just because they have painted the name of all three resorts on the boat does not mean that the costs are being distributed appropriately...all I am saying is that they have made this mistake before...so keep an eye out when the budget comes...I would expect the costs or transportation to go down if the other two resorts are now chipping in....even with inflation and other factors--the number of boats is unlikely to increase that much and the costs should now be spread out over two new resorts thus reducing the costs for OKW owners....

Thanks for all the information. Though I'm sorry I missed out travelling on the pontoon boat, depending on the route the new boat takes it could be fun, if they let us use it to travel between resorts.

We'd probably use the boat to go to POR from OKW if they allow it. I'll have to check it out when we're down there in June.

OKW to POR -- That could be a plus. How close is the boat dock to the food court area over there? On the flip side, I hope they keep an eye on POR folks attempting to pool hop to SSR and OKW (once the slide is in place).

Good point Pam. Just think, if we weren't getting a pool slide, people from PO wouldn't even think of trying to pool hop to OKW. You just can't win, can you!!

As for visiting PO it depends which boat dock they use - POFQ or POR. Neither is very far to their respective food courts, but it would be good if they did stop at POR, as I much prefer that one.

Welcome to a world where companies are forced to over-compensate for all of the "wonderful" privacy legislation.

DVC could probably make a valant attempt to link contracts together which have common ownership, but as soon as they made a single mistake they would be opening themselves up to liability.

Good points - so does that mean that I will need to retain all 3 user ID/passwords for the site or will the contracts be linked on the site at least so I do not need to keep all 3?

I think you probably will. There have been several mentions by DVC about the mailings that will be coming. They stress that although they look like duplicates, they are not because they have specific information for each member of the household.

Anyone who has gotten a points statement from DVC knows that they track each contract and/or each add-on individually. I have a feeling that for the time being we would have to access each account seperately. (The add-ons might be consolidated.) Of course, they may not actually grant us access to our point accounts until they get that bug out of the system.

Maybe they'll come to their senses and just send out the ID & password by the member number. Then they could break it up by resorts once you're logged on if they need to disseminate info.
