Once again, our party included myself, my DH, my DS (22) and his girlfriend and my DD (17). Although we were on property only 11 days, we had dinner at some Disney restaurants while we were off property.
Rainforest Cafe - Animal Kingdom - We got the latest PS which was 6:00 and used our lunch vouchers. Only myself, my DH and DD were present. Of course, our waitress was very helpful in telling us what we could order, offering suggestions that weren't on the menu. My DD had the chicken quesadillas and a whole stuffed lobster. Both DH and myself had the shrimp cocktail and surf and turf (filet and half a stuffed lobster). EVERYTHING was excellent! I was hesitant since I have read many negative comments about Rainforest, but we were very happy with the meal (and the price). For dessert we had the bananas foster (oh so yummy). Our bill would have been over $200.00....not bad for $90.00 worth of vouchers. Would definitely do this one again.
Palio - Being Italian, I am hesitant about Italian restaurants. Last time I was at Palio I was less than impressed. But this time dinner was fantastic! Once again it was the three of us. We shared the tomato/mozzarella salad and the bruschetta sampler -- fantastic! I had the veal marsala (the dish by which I judge all Italian restaurants), DH had the veal picatta and DD had tortellini with lobster. Desserts and coffee all around. Great food, great service. A true gem!!
Portobello Yacht Club - All five of us were present. Although we went at 7:30, the restaurant was empty (it was raining). Appetizers included tomato/mozzarella, shrimp wrapped in prosciutto, ceasar salad and minestrone. Entrees ranged from pizza to linquine with clams to rack of lamb. Dessert was an assortment of the specialties. The service was good and the food was good. Nothing spectacular, but nothing offensive. For the price, though, I would have expected more. Would have reservations about going back.
