Hi, all.

Just thought I would share our dining experiences--me, DH, DS4 and DS2 just returned from a week's stay (June 29 through July 4).

Day 1: Lunch at Crystal Palace--many choices--salmon, pastas, quiche, chicken, great salad/fruit bar, potato casserole, and a kid's section of nuggets, mac n cheese, french fries, etc.
Also, a dessert bar with ice cream and cookies/cakes.

Food was one of the best buffets we had and the characters (Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet) were great. The "parade" was a big hit with both of my boys. We saw each character at least twice in the span of an hour. We will be back!!

Day 2: Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare with Alice, Mary Poppins, Mad Hatter, and Tigger. Food was awesome--love that strawberry soup!! Made to order quiches and any breakfast food/fruit/pastry you can imagine. This was by far the best breakfast meal we ate.

The Mad Hatter is AWESOME!!! He has the character down pat and is great with kids. He sang the Unbirthday song with DS4. The characters were much more relaxed and able to linger at your table longer. Some of the other character meals seemed rushed.

Day 3: Lunch at MGM 50's primetime cafe. DH ordered a burger, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, and DS's shared a kids chicken nugget meal. Smores for dessert--yum!! The atmosphere was great, our waitress just so-so, didn't do any of the fun things I've heard about. I felt like the food was equivalent to the counter service we had elsewhere. We won't be back, except maybe for dessert only.

Dinner that night at Liberty Tree Tavern. A very good meal!! The salad with strawberry vinegarette was awesome, as was the bread. My boys loved the turkey/pork/ham (I'm not a big meat eater). The mashed potatoes and veggies were also great. And boston cream cake with ice cream for dessert---yum! Character interaction seemed very rushed--sign the book, snap the picture, see ya!! (It was Minnie, Goofy, Meeko, Pluto and Donald). We will be back because it was about the only lunch/dinner where my two boys didn't order chicken nuggets!!

Day 4: Breakfast at Ohanas. We had a SLOW waitress--it took forever to have anything refilled. The food was so-so; just your basic bacon and eggs. The potatoes were overcooked and soggy, eggs on the runny side, and bacon a little floppy. But I managed to eat my fill of fruit and pineapple bread, which was good!! Rushed character interaction, but the parade was a big hit (Chip, Dale, Goofy, and Mickey were there).

Dinner at Beaches and Cream. AWESOME!!! DH and I had cheeseburgers with fries; DS's had chicken nuggets--again!! I'm one who believes a burger is a burger is a burger--but this was really good. We order a mudslide sundae for dessert that was incredible--we couldn't finish it. I'm glad we didn't even attempt the Kitchen Sink. We will be back to this place!!

Day 5: Breakfast at Animal Kingdom breakfastasauras. This was okay; we were tired of breakfast food (really, there aren't many other choices if you want character meals--I wish they offered more lunches!! Dinner is a bad time for us with little ones unless we eat at 5:00 or so.). The characters were good--Donald, Pluto, Goofy, and Mickey.

We also ate counter service at Roaring Forks quite a bit (we stayed at the WL). We loved the pizza and could feed our whole crew with one from room service (16 inch, I think?? around $14.00) and two small salads ($3.99). Add in some Mickey Bars for dessert and you've got yourself a well-balanced, cheap meal :)

Also, we spent approximately $100 at Scuttle's Landing in Fantasyland. My boys (okay, DH and I too) are hooked on the red and blue icees.

Hope this helps someone.
I'm already planning our trip next summer!!!

Thanks for your reviews--we have been to many of the character breakfasts and have decided to give 1900 Park Fare a try this time. I'm glad to read such a good review of it
