Just Back CR and WL

Just got back - had reserv. at CR at Summer Saver rate of $130 for a wing room - checked in at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday and got upgraded to 10 floor tower with MK view ( room 4642 ) - I didn't make any requests prior to arriving - just checked in and got it. Tower is great, better than bay view in wing we had last year. Then we moved on Thursday to the WL and had a standard view - got upgraded to courtyard view ( room 4023 ). The WL was very nice - I'll do a trip report ASAP but if anybody wants any questions answered fire away. We also did Chef Mickey's, Water Mice, MK, MGM, Blizzard Beach, Mini-golf. Beaches and Cream, etc......

Congrats on the upgrades!!! I have been to WDW 17 times and have yet to get an upgrade and you received 2 on one trip. WOW!!!

in oct 1995 my son & i had ressies at CR for a wing room - but my sister called before we arrived, and arranged for us to be upgraded to a tower room - #4642, 10th floor, MK view!!! (i only wish i'd taken more pix of the MK & fireworks from the balcony...)

going back to the CR next aug 2003 with my son (before he leaves for college) - hope to get room #4642 again....

We are going to Disney in Nov and staying at the WL, IT will be our family's first trip and a suprise for our 9 year old. We already have a courtyard room at a super rate. I know absolutly nothing... can you give me any tips, certain side of courtyard to stay? what is the pool like? what about the hair rap things, are they by the pool. How is the room? Anything you can share will be more than I know now, also we plan do chef mickey's how is it? thanks!!!

The room we were in (4023) was a great location - it was on the Roaring Forks side of the pool - which means that we could jump on the elevator just to the side of Roaring Forks and be right up to our room - good for quick returns from the pool or getting a bite or drink. The pool was great but crowded when I was there, the slide is not real fast or long and has a little tunnel - my 8 year old when down it alot. The hair rap thing is by the pool - $1.50 per inch plus beads I believe. Good drinks at the pool side bar also - Chef Mickey's is a great deal for a nice breakfast and to see the Characters - the song and napkin waving is always fun for my kids. Suprisingly, the WL room I had I heard much more noise from the halls and the pool then my CR tower room -which was very quiet. Ask away.
