We just got back for our week at Ft.W cabins. It was the best family vacation ever! We made a lot of memories.

We went to MK 2 nights (Tues & Fri) and the Spectromagic Parade was cancelled both nights due to thunderstorms. The first night it didn't start raining until 10:00, just as the fireworks went off. On Fri it started raining at 8:45. They still have the fireworks if it rains. People were camped out on Main St. USA before 7:30 to hold spots for the parade only to get cancelled.

On Sun., the MGM parade was delayed and then cancelled also due to rain.

It rained almost everyday. Sometimes later in the day, sometimes earlier and didn't stop. I imagine that the AK parade was cancelled all but one day last week.

On a good note - it was fun and cozy in the cabin, in the wood in the rain. DH loved it.

Sounds as though you had a great time despite the rain.

When they cancel the parade and it doesn't seem to be raining, it's because there is electrical activity in the immediate area. We have been having the worst thunderstorms I can remember right now. The weather is very strange. Just remember, when a parade is canceled, it is for the safety of the performers as well as the guests. I certainly don't want to find myself with the same fate as Betsy the giraffe. :(

momxx5-you must have been at the park the same day as me! We missed the MGM parade last year and was looking forward to seeing it this year. Was really disappointed, but theres always next year to look forward to! We were waiting another day to watch the MK parade at 3:00 and were standing near the entrance to the park where the parade wraps up. A bad storm blew in just as the parade started and by the time it got to where we were, there was only the first 4 or 5 floats. I guess they routed the others out of the park before it reaches the front? We had seen that parade before so it wasn't as much of a let down. We finally got to see Spectromagic this year and it was awesome!
