We just returned from a fabulous 10 day trip home! Our first five nights (10/27-10/31) DH and I were in a one-bedroom preferred view at BWV. We were in a dedicated one-bedroom, #3102 (passed the badshoe.com stickers on the door just down the hall!). It overlooked the quiet pool and community hall - we could see the high fireworks and hear all of Fantasmic. It was great! We had a nice long balcony that went all the way across the unit and could be accessed from the main room or the bedroom. We decorated with pumpkins and Halloween lights
Now this was our first stay at BWV and we'd heard all about those dreaded "long walks." Let me say right now, once and for all, we were almost as far down as you could get from the lobby and the walk was NOT bad at all! In fact, we walked probably twice that distance all three times we stayed at AKL. We were expecting that type of walk, so what we got was a pleasant surprise. The room was in great shape and in a terrific location - we had requested non-smoking, boardwalk view, upper floor. Two out of three isn't bad!
For the next five nights we moved to a 2-bedroom dedicated unit at BCV, where my MIL and two nephews joined us. We requested non-smoking, Epcot view, near elevators and upper floor. Again we got all but one - the Epcot views were all booked. Our room was #223 and overlooked the couryard and porte coche. Not a terrific view, but it could've been worse. We had a great balcony that went across the whole length of the unit, accessible from both bedrooms and the living room. Again we decorated with our pumpkins and lights. One morning I was out on the balcony and another resident shouted over that they'd enjoyed our decorations
The room was terrific and in good shape - although it seemed we had less space than at BWV with the arrangement of things. The vanity counter is definitely less spacious and there is less walking room in the master bath and kitchen/entry area. We did like BCV (saw the gator several times) and would stay there again, but probably would pick BWV over it if given the choice.
The trip as a whole was great. Hit the food & wine fest on two different nights and ate our way around the world. Some fabulous stuff there! A few of our favorites were Mexico (watermelon water, quesadillas), Ireland (flan), South Africa (bbq chicken on sugar cane skewer), Russia (duck & stroganoff) and Canada (cheese soup). We attended the MNSSHP on 11/1 and had a blast!
Now we can hardly wait to go back... May is a long way off!
