BLT- we stayed in a water view room which overlooked the pool on the 16th floor. Very easy access to fireworks viewing and a very nice room. They were just finishing changing the locks over when we were there and we had no problems with the key cards working after the switch. I loved the ability to walk to MK and will plan to stay here again.

BCV-first stay in a very long time though we do own points here. The room was very clean and stocked properly and as those who remember my last post before leaving sugested, there were no issues and I could not have been happier. The ability to walk to Epcot and the studios is such a plus.

OKW- It is my favorite, but they really do need to attend to housekeeping and repair issues better than they are now. I did take photos and shared them with a manager and she tried her best to solve them. I gave up. I will say the room is cleaner now when I left since I cleaned it myself. I am not saying I will not go back, but I will say that more attention to detail is important. I will be emailing the manager I worked with since she asked me to and I will voice my concerns one more time. I would not want anyone to think that is what DVC is all about and moreover would not want anyone else to get a room in such condition. Bottom line, spraying clorox clean up so it smells clean does not make a room clean.

Overall, we enjoyed the trip very much and had a wonderful time dispite DH throwing his back out by lifting two suitcases and twisting the wrong way! Poor DH, he powered through and did the best he could to make sure the kiddo had a great trip! By the last 2 days he was pretty much back to normal and was able to take DD on rides I just can't do like Mission Space Orange...one trip on that and I am down for the count for a few hours!
I am already planning for next year. though I can't do too much until I know when DD will start college and all that orientation and placement stuff.

I wonder are there rooms at OKW that just see more wear and tear? If so where are the ones that don't? I could use a suggestions for a room location.

When you say you had a room, does that mean a studio? I've found, particularly at OKW, SSR & BWV that the studios get a lot of usage and probably show more wear and tear.

My approach to travel/vacation is a bit different, I don't stay in a studio if we are more than two. I like more living space, and can't be cooped up without being able to move and walk around early morning or late night.

We book 2br's always as we travel w/ generally 5-6 and I've found those villas to be very well maintained at OKW (my home & also favorite resort), SSR & BWV. It think the studios get really beat up!

Thanks for the TR, you're a trooper, I've managed to only do one split stay in 12 years of DVC ownership, not my thing!

Heading to Kidani Monday, yeah!

On our first ever stay at OKW, we were assigned a studio in bldg 14. It had a huge red spill on the brand new carpet, mold all over the bathroom, a deck so filthy that you couldn't use it, and was located right next to the bridge that every single bus uses going in and out of the property.

I have never asked to change rooms before, but did on that trip. The second studio that we were given was very clean and much quieter - in building 31 (I think). The deck was clean and we could sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view.

Our second stay at OKW was in bldg 46 in a 2 bedroom. It was very clean, but did have a couple of maintenance issues - slow draining sink and dishwasher that didn't work right. Neither caused us any issues during our stay, and we did alert the front desk at check-out so they could be fixed.

Sorry, studio at BLT and BCV, 1 br at OKW...we knew we would be spending very little time in the room the first two weeks.
Normally we do two weeks at OKW in a 1BR, but the points chart revision has me messed up, plus only DD went along with us this time and she is low maintainence and doesn't spread out all over the place like DS used to! Switching rooms is no biggie for us, we have a good system and it is done with very minimal time wasted or lost.

BLT, 16th Floor. Was that a Grand Villa? Curious as to whether there are any non-Grand Villas up there.

Studio lock off, really nice but did need to swipe key on elevator which was no big deal to us, it is very quiet up there.
