Hi all,

Just back from another great trip! Our first stay at BCV for F&W. Now I get it....now I know why so many like to stay at BWV or BCVs!! Couldn't have been a better stay at BCV..room was good, CMs some of the friendliest we've come across and you just can't beat the location for food and wine...and SAB wow......food, drink and SAB...fun was had by the whole family!!

Then on to VB to re-coup from F&W! Ha! Our second stay here...a bit spoiled because we stayed in an OVIR last time...this time a 2BR . Not the best location, (building 14, overlooking the security gate) , but we didn't really care. Room in good shape. Only small issues...the area had a water main break and you could'nt use the tap water , so they had to bring water to your room. Also menus were limited .. served on all paper or plastic..yuck. We are all beach lovers, so our only other small issue was last full day it rained in the morning around 10 oclock am...so the company that runs the chairs ect decided to close ...for the day...! Enough people must have complained..it was a beautiful day.. sometime around 2pm CMs had a huge ring of keys trying to figure out how to unlock all the chairs so they could be used. As I said, these were just little things..our stay was just as great as last time.

I posted about a month ago...my niece backed out on going with us last minute and I felt really bad about my DD17 not having anyone with her on this trip... I really shouldn't have stressed over it... another reason I'm so glad we have DVC...She didn't worry about not hitting the parks this time, she can go next trip. She enjoyed herself just as much , going with us to F&W and hanging out at the pool.

Thanks!!

Gail

Glad you had a wonderful stay at BCV. It is my home resort and I just love it there. Like you said, the location just can't be beat.:thumbsup2

I know what you mean by being spoiled by the OVIR at Vero. They are wonderful. We are thinking of bringing some friends to Vero next spring and don't know if we want 2 OVIR's or a 2BR. Hmm... It will be 4 adults. I just don't know. What do you think?

I think it would depend on how long you are staying and how your friends like to travel..... we brought my mom with us this past April and had 2 connecting OVIRs. I thought it was perfect for us. Ocean breezes...left the sliding door open at night to hear the waves..we had friends over and they were looking through pictures, they were like..are you kidding...your room was right on the ocean...yeahhh we know :cloud9: We didn't do any cooking other than toast and coffee in the am, and went out of the resort for most dinners. It was nice to be in the main building. But on the other hand, tough to give up all that space in a 2BR..washer & dryer, couch, dining table...
boy this is a hard one alright.....have fun in whatever you decide!!!

Ahhhh.... life at the beach. My two homes, BCV and VB. Glad you enjoyed your the resorts. :goodvibes

Hi Gail, Glad you had good trip. I don't think you could even have picked a more unfortunate room location at VB. :sad2:

When not staying in the Inn we have almost always ended up in 14 (and we enjoyed each stay), but for our next trip I have requested 12 or 15, top floor, ocean facing. We'll see if that helps. Things were said on our last visit the has caused me to change my belief from "first come first served" to rooms being "assigned". At least when the resort hits a certain percentage of capacity.

Glad your DD enjoyed herself. Funny how our worries are usually greater than what really happens :)

We also got back on Sunday from BCV and VB. Our first time at VB. We had two OVIR and I would never pick anything else. I thought the rooms were fantastic.

I actually thought the inconvenience of the water break was a bigger deal. Our character breakfast really sucked, and I felt they should have lowered the price somewhat. I ordered room service coffee and rolls, because I'm on vacation and that's what I like. She told me they were'nt making coffee, but brought up a package of coffee so I could make my own. Yeah...a filter would have been nice, so the packet was pretty useless.

We loved VB however and can't wait to go back.

My only complaint about all the hotels, including WL because we stayed there also was the air conditioning. Does it have to be so freezing cold? When you come in from being outside, it absolutely freezes you over.

Some things you get in a warm moist climate are.... mold, mildew, bacteria, and viruses. A/C removes both the warm and the moisture. Hotels are petrified by Legionaires disease as are cruise ships. Keeping them cold and dry is a significant way to reduce the risk.

You know, I called MS a couple of weeks ago to make sure they had all the names right.. and she told me then our room was assigned...we checked in around 11 am, and I asked again that we requested a top floor at the least. No such luck this time, guess second floor was better than 1st. Got our room at 3pm. Almost everyone that I heard being checked in when we were in the lobby was given building 14. Not sure if the water issue impacted this at all. The resort was not at all full.

Worry...sometimes my middle name....as my DD says...Mom..just let it go with the flow.... lol!:cool2:

This trip, we pretty much used the room for meals...so the water issue wasn't much of an inconvenience for us, other than calling housekeeping for more water. But my DH and I had both said if we were eating on site or using room service... we wouldn't have been happy campers. Everything was served on paper plates and plastic cups, with paper straws...yuck.... I know, out of their control, but i sooo dislike paper plates...ewwwe:(
