We spent 6 nights at the BCV. We originally were booked for April 29 (Sat) to May 6 (Sat) but my job at about 40 days out had to change my time off to April 27 (Thurs) to May 3 (Wed). So, we called DVC and were able to cancel the end of our trip but were only able to add the Friday night to the begining of the trip. We wait listed for Thurs night and booked SSR. At exactly 30 days I called DVC and to check on the wait list and it had come thru!! So, we were able to spen all 6 nights at our home BCV!! :cool1:

Check in was OK, the girl seemed new and nervous. Our room was not ready, so we stored the luggage and headed off to eat in Epcot. After Epcot we headed to Publix and got some breakfast iteams (that we hardly ate) and liquids for the week :drinking1

After Publix we called about the room, but it was still not available. So, we stored the groceries and I got out my bathing suit to head to Stormalong Bay. After changing I stopped at the desk to ask a question and now the room was ready! This was about 2 pm!! :cool1:

We were in studio, non smoking, dedicated room number 339. This was a very nice room with a view of the Beach Club hotel and the Eifel Tower in France. We could not really see many fireworks from the balcony. The room was in great shape, VERY close to the ice machine (good for mixing the liquids of the week  )

We spent lots of time during our week at the BCV pool and some at Stormalong Bay. We had the dinning plan, which was wonderful and I REALLY hope DVC will continue to be able to book this for a LONG time :thumbsup2

Here is a link to my dinning report:

We did ride a few rides, with 3 trips on EE. This is a GREAT coaster :cheer2: It will get us over to AK now, we have been skipping this park for a few years.

We have a cruise booked on points for November, but no other DVC trips on the books as of yet. We will plan to return to BCV for next May again.

Forgot to mention the pool temps!

Both pools, the BCV pool and Stormalong Bay were at very comfortable temps all week. The air temps on some days were colder than the pool, so it seemed to be heated to an appropriate temp.

But, I put my hand into two pools at the CR after eating dinner at Concourse Steakhouse and they were both FREEZING cold. The two pools were the one with the slide and the round one up closer to the lake but in the same general area. What a shock it would have been to swim there!

Enjoyed your report, Dawn. We were at BCV last week too. Although I didn't swim, my DH and DS2 did and I know they thought the water temp was fine as well.

It is great that we can now do the DDP isn't it? We had fun with it as well.

I'm glad you had such a good time! We've never had a dedicated studio at BCV, maybe this time will be our turn, we're leaving on Thursday.

Bobbi :)

Good to know. We just bought at BCV and will stay there in July for the first time.

One question. Where is the Publix?

Well, I am not good at giving directions, but here is a shot at it!

You go down the road that leads past Pop Centry and ends at World of Sports. At that light you make a left. Follow that past the Opry hotel (I think that is what it is called?) to the light at International BLVD. Take a right onto international BLVD and the Publix is on the left. If you come to another stop light (that is 192) then you went too far. I hope that gets you there! You might ask for a map at the bell desk, they should be able to get you to Publix!

I got that studio, #339, on my first stay at BCV and LOVED it! So convenient, yet so quiet, and such a perfect view. I thought it was a "woods view", but when I tried to request that view, MS says there is no such thing (!) So what did you request to get that area? I'm hoping I get that area again sometime.

Sounds like you had a great trip! We'll be at the BCV in a couple weeks, and I cannot wait! :thumbsup2

Simba's Mom, our only request was non-smoking.

We used to request Epcot view yrs ago, but when they got rid of that view it no longer matters to me. We did get two different units our first two years that had GREAT Epcot views, do not remember the room numbers now (they were both dedicated two br).
