We got back last night from our first DW vacation. We ate so well, there were times I thought I would burst. We were on the dining plan & loved it. I had planned on taking pictures, but DH was mortified at the idea, so...

Our arrival night we ate at Le Cellier. It definitely lived up to my expectations. I had the cheddar soup, which was delicious. The pretzel bread is amazing & I wish I could get it around here. DH had the shrimp coctail which he loved. DS had the Grilled Beef Tenderloin Kabob...yummy! Next I had the 14 oz. New York Strip Steak, very good & so tender. DH had the Herb Crusted Prime Rib & said it was awesome. DS had the chicken tenders which he liked. For dessert we ordered one Happiest Celebration on Earth Chocolate Whiskey Cake to go, which I left sitting there, so I can't comment on that. Over all we LOVED this meal. One of our favorites. Server was awesome. We gave her an extra tip.

Day two, we went to AK. We had lunch at the Tusker House. It was very good for a CS. DH had the Grilled Salmon & I had the Fried Chicken Sandwich. Both were very good. DS wasn't hungry, so he didn't eat. In the afternoon we headed over to MK. For dinner we went to the Whispering Canyon Cafe. I started with the Nachos (yummy) & DH had the Fried Chicken Wings (said they were sweet). Next DH & I had the NY Strip Steak. It was good, but not great. DS had the chicken strips. Yep, he asked the waiter for ketsup. I knew what would happen next, but DH & DS did not. The look on DS's face was priceless when our waiter started yelling. Then, DS looks at me & says "well, that's one way to get ketsup." He loved it when the next waiter yelled out. He & the boy at the table next to us got up & started carrying the umpteen bottles. It was hysterical. For dessert, we got a Apple Caramel Pie & the Worms in the Dirt to go. We remembered to bring them with us this time! Overall, a neat place to eat. DH wasn't to crazy for the atmosphere, but DS & I loved it. We also love WL. Very pretty.

Day three, we spent at Epcot. It poured on us all day. Even with ponchos & umbrellas, we got soaked. We decided to go back to the resort to change & have lunch at the Pepper Market. DH had the Stir Fry Beef & an egg roll. DS wanted the Half Rotisserie Chicken. I didn't think he would eat it all, so I decided to share with him. I didn't care for it, but he devoured it. Food was good (according to DH & DS), but it is confusing the first time you eat here. After lunch we headed back to MK & went to the Kona Cafe for dinner. The Poly is lovely & the monorail is so neat to ride. DH ordered the Crab Cakes & I got the Sticky Wings to start. DH loved his. I didn't really care for the wings, but I am very picky. Next, DH got the Slow Roasted Prime Rib. He says this is the best he has ever had & Kona was his favorite meal of the week, hands down. I ordered the Char Crusted Medallions of Filet Mignon. Extremely tender & delicious. DS ordered the...can you guess?? Yep, chicken tenders. He said they were good, but didn't eat much. For dessert, we ordered Caramel-Banana Creme Brulee, White Chocolate Cheesecake, & some chocolate "thing." I can't remember the name, but it was delicious. Kind of like a cake with chocolate filling inside. I want to say the waiter called it a volcano, but I am just not sure. Anyway, thumbs way up for this place. Service excellent. Left an extra tip for our waiter.

Forth day, on to MGM. Had lunch at the Sci-Fi. It was VERY busy & we didn't have ADR's, but they got us in at one of those little tables. It was neat in there, but I expected more or different?? DH ordered the Reuben & I ordered the Crispy Onion Rings & the All American Burger. Ours were great. DS got the Grilled Chicken Breast, which he didn't really care for. Overall, a good meal. For dinner we met family that live in Florida. We went to Downtown Disney & ate at the Rainforest Cafe. DH started with the Coconut Shrimp skewers & I had the Cheese sticks. Both were good. DH got the Maine Stuffed Lobster which he loved. I got a Rainforest Burger that was so-so, kinda dry. DS got the dinosaur chicken nuggets & said they weren't very good. A neat place to eat, but nothing great.

Day five we went back to AK. For lunch we ate at the Flame Tree BBQ. This was NOTHING to rave about. I got the Pork Sandwich & DH got the Smoked Beef. Neither were great. DS got the Smoked 1/2 Chicken & he didn't like it. Said the chicken at the Pepper Market was WAY better. After a quick break at the resort, we headed to MK & took the monorail to the Contemporary for dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse. The food was good. The service...can you say S-L-O-W? DH started with the Pan Seared Scallops which he said were very good. Then he had the Prime Rib. He said it was very good, but didn't beat the one at Kona. I had the 14 oz. Chipotle Glazed Rib Eye that was excellent. DS ordered the...chicken strips (surprise, surprise!). For dessert, we got the Key Lime Pie, the Triple Chocolate Cake, & the Mickey Brownie. All were very good. Food :thumbsup2 but the service...blah, yuck.

On our sixth & final day, we headed to Downtown Disney to give Disney Quest a try. It was fun. DS loved building the roller coaster. We went back to our resort & ate lunch at the Pepper Market. This time DH got the Spicy Chicken Kung Bao & an egg roll. I got a wet burrito. DS had a plain soft taco, which he didn't like because there were onions in the meat. DH & I enjoyed ours. Next we headed back to Epcot & then on to the Beach Club for dinner at Cape May. This was very good. The carved beef was excellent. Dh really enjoyed the mussels & shrimp. DS, who loves clams, was dissapointed. DH said the clams tasted like they were steamed with garlic, & DS didn't like them. Overall, a great meal for the price. The desserts were very good. The Oreo bon bons were awesome!

Well, that's all folks. We ate very well. We didn't use all of our credits, but definitely got our money's worth. The dining plan is so easy to use & it was nice not having to worry about the cost of items. Would definitely get it again.

Enjoyed reading your reviews. We loved Le Cellier too! Do you think anyone would think it weird if I ate there every night next trip? :goodvibes

Thank you for your review. I am in the process of deciding where we are going to eat and your review is a big help. :)

Thanks for the reviews! :thumbsup2

We're planning a trip and I was glad you mentioned what your son liked and didn't like about each restaurant. :sunny:

Hi I loved reading your report. Can you tell a little more about Whispering Canyons. We will be going there and I would love to know what we are in store for. Thanks.

If you ever get to go back to the Clam Bake - ask them without the garlic butter - we do. In fact, last time we were there they had with and without the garlic butter. I like mine plain and I dip them in the butter.

As I said, DS & I really enjoyed it. It is kinda loud & crazy. At one point they had a "horse race" for the kids...on those little stick ponies. Everyone would whoop & yell & wave their napkins in the air. Then the kids had to do a little pledge. "I (state your name) swear to...(one was "not go to Universal")

DH, in his words, doesn't want to be disturbed while he is eating. It is a lot of fun if you like a little entertainment with your meal. There is a list of things to do for more interactment at allearsnet.com under the WCC menu.

Thanks for the report!

We have ADR's for Le Cellier in early March and reading your review made my mouth water. I think I could eat just the cheddar cheese soup and the pretzel bread! Yum.

We are staying at WL and eating at Whispering Canyon the first night. It'll be our first time at that restaurant & hotel. I've heard about the antics at WCC and can't wait! My kids are going to love it, especially the lincoln log table.

I see you mentioned rain forest is that Now on the dining plan? My kids will be so excited if it is!!!
No, it's not on the plan. Dsis-in-law paid for it. The bill was well over $200 for 5 adults & 4 kids. That included tax & tip because of our party size.

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

Thanks for the reviews! We also have a ADR for Sci-Fi and it is good to hear a postive review! I can't wait to try Whispering Canyon. I will have to have one of my kids ask for catsup - but not tell them why!
