Hi all!!

My group just returned from a 10 day stay at Pop Century. Here's where we ate (sit-down at least).

Hollywood & Vine - dinner
Rose & Crown - lunch
Safari Celebration - dinner
50s Prime Time Cafe - dinner
Cape May Buffet - dinner
Artist Point - dinner
San Angel Inn - dinner

I'll be doing more detailed summaries later, but wondered if anyone had any questions now.

How was Cape May Buffet? Lots to choose from? Good food for the price? Thanks

I do have a few questions! Thanks.

Rose & Crown - lunch how was the food & atmosphere here?
Artist Point - did this seem like a fun place for children, or, better suited for a parents night out?
San Angel Inn - have heard mixed reviews, what did you think?

I personally didn't love Cape May, but I'm not a seafood fan. The rest of the group seemed to really enjoy it. The seafood lovers thought the clams, mussels, etc were great, though they did find that lots of the shells were empty. That just meant that they piled their plates higher on the next run. The desserts were very yummy too - they had an apple crumble that was especially good (very full of cinnamon - just how I like it) and the oreo bon bons were to die for. Overall we felt happy about the experience and would certainly go again.

Rose & Crown is a must do for every trip for my group, and it didn't disappoint. My mil (visiting from England) said it was better than her local pub! Everyone enjoyed everything we ate and several stopped back to the CS place for more fish & chips later on in the trip.

Artist Point is probably better suited for just adults, but kids could come and still enjoy themselves and their meal. Our group of nine managed to try about 4 different appetizers, entrees and desserts and everyone loved everything they ate. It was the high point, food-wise, of our trip!!

San Angel Inn is one that I probably won't visit again. The food has always only been slightly above average in my mind, but the atmosphere of the restaurant kept drawing me back. This trip showed me that there are too many other places with atmosphere and great food to bother coming back again. That said, one person in our party wanted to go every day just to get the ceviche appetizer.

Thanks for the very helpful feedback. So R&C is a fun place for kids also?

I think so. It was a long meal (2+ hours), but I think that's because we had such a large group. Meals typically only take about an hour or so there. The kids did well with their meals and loved their dessert. It's a build your own sundae, where the ice cream comes out separate from the toppings and they can make what they like.

What did you have at Rose and Crown for lunch? Also, please tell me about the safari celebration dinner. We have that booked for May.

I had the salad as an appetizer (loved the mustard vinagrette), the fish & chips as an entree and the kid's sundae for dessert (wasn't feeling hungry after all the fish & chips). Everything was very yummy!! Others in the group had the fruit and cheese plate and the potato and leek soup, which they all enjoyed. They had shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, and the roast beef sandwich with soup as well. The only thing that wasn't a hit was the roast beef sandwich.

We were a little disappointed in the celebration dinner. Our server did a less than Disney-level job. She was very sullen, not quick to refill drinks, etc. There was also some confusion in the buffet line about whether it was necessary to start at one end or just hop in wherever. I was told by some upper level Disney staff that the carved meats would be brought to the table, but they never were and so I missed them completely. We did enjoy the safari and the kids liked meeting the characters and dancing with the African band, but in retrospect we'd have opted for a different magical gathering event.
