Just returned from WDW and we ate at the following resturants on the Deluxe Dining plan.

Checked in at Kidani Village
Sat - Sanaa (Dinner)
Sun - 50's Prime Time (Lunch)
Sun - Brown Derby (Dinner) - #1 in our book
Mon - Pizzafari (Lunch)
Mon - Jiko (Dinner)
Tue - Boma (Brunch)
Moved over to the BLT
Tue - California Grill (Dinner)

We paid OOP for the following

Wed - Food & Wine Festival (Lunch)
Wed - Rose & Crown (Dinner)
Thur - The Wave (Brunch)
Thur - 1900 Park Fair (Dinner)

All food was good to incredible. All service was OK to incredible.

The only real complaint was that we had 7:30 PM reservations for Rose & Crown and we were not seated until 8:00 PM. We did get great and quick service though at Rose & Crown. We didn't get appetizers and our dinners arrived at 8:10 PM.

I will answer any questions anyone has.

Sanaa was very good. It was our best regular (non-signature) meal. The food and service was excellent.

Some background on the diners in our party. It was 5 adults: Me, Erin(My better half), her mother, my mother and my sister. Erin or her mother are not too adventurous. My sister doesn't care for red meat. She's happy with chicken and seafood. My mother will eat almost anything as long as it is not spicy. I will eat anything and everything. I am a "Plate Cleaner":rotfl2:

The menu on allears is incorrect for what we were offered. The menu on the WDW site is what we had.

Most food had spice to it which my mother cannot eat spicy food. She was able to find something to eat for an appetizer(scallop) & entree(NY strip)

I was able to get the appetizer sampler for two as an appetizer for just me. Our server suggested it. We also got the bread service as one appetizer which was alot of food also. The other appetizers at our table were mustard seed-crusted scallops, seared paneer cheese & a salad sampler.

The potato & pea somosas were good and spicy. These were perhaps the spiciest things for an appetizer besides one of the dips for the bread service. The pulled duck in red cury was incredible and the cauliflower was interesting and good. I did try one of the scallops from my mothers plate. They were quite good. The seared paneer cheese was good but nothing interesting. We had our server pick the breads and dips for the bread service and all were great.

I had the tandoori lamb which I though was really good. I had nothing to compare it with because I had never had lamb before. The sauce that came with it was quite good. It was served on the side.

My mothers steak was very good and my sisters spice crusted game hen was also very good. Erin's mom got the tandoori shrimp and I heard no complaints. The best and most interesting thing at the table for an entree was the shrimp with green curry sauce which Erin got. She was able to get two curry shrimps as her choice of two. It was sweet and spicy at the same time. A taste like I have never had.

I got the dessert sampler for dessert. The chocolate cake was good chocolate cake. The chai cream was a cinnamon/spiced pudding that I thought was just Ok but my sister and Erin's mother thought was incredible. I thought the passion fruit kulfi was incredible but my sister thought it was just OK. It was something like gelato but had a slight carmel flavor to it which I thought complimented the passion fruit flavor.

Hi! I would love a review of Jiko and, since we will be eating dinner for the first time this December :thumbsup2, I was wondering:

how long did it take to be seated?
how long did it take to be served?
if someone orders just an appetizer (or two appetizers) and others order entrees, are they brought out at the same time?
how long did the entire meal, start to finish, take?

Thanks!

We are going to some of the same restaurants. I'd love to hear about your favorite foods! Thank you!

Did you have fun at 1900 PF? We are going just DH, DW, and DS5. I don't think he cares much about Cinderella or Prince but DS had a hilarious run in with the stepsisters last trip so I thought the dinner would be fun. Something different at least...

Here's what I'm thinking sounds good on the menu...

50s Prime Time Lunch - onion rings or crab cake appetizer, pot roast or fried chicken, all the desserts sound good, but maybe I'll get a milkshake in place of a dessert.

Brown Derby Dinner - will be on fantasmic package... crab cake or sashimi tuna appetizer... but everyone boasts about the cobb salad, salmon or black grouper or filet of beef, grapefruit cake.

California Grill - sushi for appetizer - had spicy kazan roll last time would like to try different one, salmon or grouper entree, had halibut last time - I like fish but DW really liked the filet last time, all the desserts sound good!

1900 Park Fare dinner - maybe pastas, salmon, prime rib... and of course strawberry soup (had that at breakfast last year!)
