We just got back from a fantastic stay at BCV and of course Im already planning for next year. For the last few years we have always gone in September and LOVE it! This year my dd is in kindergarten so we had to take her out for a week. Not too big of a deal but I feel like I should give her a few more weeks of adjustment before taking her out. Next year we are considering either going the weekend before Labor Day weekend and then flying home on Labor Day. OR, we were thinking of going the week of Columbus Day. Which week would you chose? We love to swim so the hot weather doesnt bother us, in fact, its one of the reasons we love September. My kids will be 4 and 6.

We were there the week before Labour Day and came home on Tues Sept 7th. We LOVE that week. The crowds were almost non existent I would definitely go that week again. If only they started MNSSHP a week earlier it would be perfect IMHO.

Personally, our favorite time is around Columbus day. DS is in 8th grade and pretty much every year since kindergarten we have taken him out of school Columbus day week (except last year). Now, we are lucky because they always add a staff day before or after Columbus Day at our school. This trip we will be there 10/6 (wed before) to 10/12 (tues. after) we are lucky to have no school 10/11 and 10/12, so both kids only miss three days of school. One of our new favorite times is the end of January because they have the last Mon in Jan. or first Mon in Feb. off also for some staff day. We use that as a long weekend.

Labor day is still too hot for us, and we did that last year and stayed at the THV's and were not able to enjoy our porch/deck because it was too hot, even at night coming back from the parks. I think crowds are less the week before labor day than they are Columbus Day or pretty comperable.

We were there the week of Labor Day last year and it was blasted hot but absolutely no crowds to speak of. It was AWESOME. The longest wait for any attraction that week was "Soarin'" and that was only about 10 min. :thumbsup2

This is great to hear. We only do parks 2 days and use the rest to swim and relax so the heat is ok with us! I agree that if MNSSHP was offered that weekend it would be great. I know last year it was but this year they cut out a lot of the early dates. We've been to the first Sept. party for the last 3 or 4 years and we just love it. I will miss it next year if we go for Labor Day.

My nephew used our points for his honeymoon over Labor Day and they loved that week, no lines or waiting at all for anything. Oct is always busy because of the Food & Wine. We decided this year to avoid the Columbus weekend and I am still on a wait list (since April) for BC or BW.

Thanks for all the responses. We booked for next year at the 11 month window. BWV, Aug 28-Sept 5. It should give dd one day at home before school starts. Lets hope the school doesnt have any surprises when the new calendar comes out!
