Was at the World last week for seven days and I am just now over the blues enough to offer up some of my own opinions and observations.

First of all, let me say that I LOVED 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. I did not let myself fall for the hype, just patiently waited for my trip to see for myself. It was cute, enjoyable, and seemed to make a nod to the nostalgia of Disney that I so love.
*I had read so much negative reports on here about Magibands, but I will say, I LOVED them. So convenient, comfortable, and easier than digging out my Key to The World. I actually miss wearing it.
*Guests in the Parks seemed to be grumpier than I have noticed in the past - seemed like so many people were of the "I'm entitled because I paid" mind set - and yes, we are entitled to WHAT WE PAY FOR, but not above that...
*We were amazed to find that our room this year (Pop Century) was only five units down from last year! Ground floor, facing lake, 60's building, right around the corner from the pool and only about three minutes walk from our door to the door of the food court. Mousekeeping was great - we had some really great towel art but my fave had to be the day she made a giant bow over the toilet bowl:rotfl2:
*Had FP for A&E M&G. They were awesome, spent plenty of time with us, and joked around with DH, asking him, "You aren't from the South Seas, are you?"
*Our FP for BOG worked without a hitch. I did not pre-order our meals, but ordering from the kiosk was a breeze. Our food was delivered quickly and was very good. This was my third time to eat at BOG and I think probably my favorite - mostly because the Master's cupcake was so incredible.;)
We were able to walk on several rides late Thursday night at MK while everyone else was at the late MSEP parade - HM, SpaceMtn, WTP, SW. Had about a 20 minute wait for PP. Loved the FOF parade! The music, the fantastic costumes, all of the vibrant colors - just an overwhelming experience.
*DTD- very crowded. Ate at WGP twice, both yummy. Took ferry to POR and enjoyed the ride over. Amazingly peaceful.
*AK was very crowded but still fun. FTBB was delicious as always. Got soaked on Kali, skipped Everest this year, cried during FNTM, hated to have missed FOTLK by only 5 days.
*DHS was crazy crowded - was there on Sunday. Fortunately the lines for rides were not that bad bc most people were doing all the SW stuff. Watched the SW fireworks - really great. Got a FP for Fantasmic at around 5:00 in the afternoon. Was amazed at the CM's determination to get us one. She keep saying, "I need some pixie dust!" Finally after about 7 minutes of hitting retry, she got them for us!
*We were at EPCOT two days - low crowds both days. Fabulous food from Mexico and Norway, and of course indulged at Karamel Kuche. Got an 8mm pearl at pick-a-pearl in Japan, thought the new Spice Roads was beautiful, watched a woman who was turned away from Aurora's M&G line sneak her two very young daughters (maybe 2 &4??) into line to stand UNATTENDED right in front of us, watched Illuminations, cried, cried again leaving the park.
*MK - amazing as always. As already stated several walk-ons. there for two days, spent majority of 1st day in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Encountered nothing unpleasant until Friday night right before Wishes when two adults got into a HUGE spat bc "family A" was blocking "family B's" view of the castle.
Got to see Aladdin and Jasmine ride magic carpets with two little girls, ate a Dole Whip, was one of only two families in line for Tiki Room:lmao:, and had the time of my life conquering my fear of Space Mountain.
*DH says Pop will now be our new vacation home - we used to rotate through the Values but after 3 great experiences at Pop we now think that's just the place for us. OH!! Was disappointed to see the tie-dyed cheesecake is no longer a slice, rather in a plastic cup and about 1/3 the size of the original, also changed the name of it to rainbow cake or something like that.**side note** If you are a coffee drinker, the new coffee is a little stout. I will definitely bring my coffee maker next year.
*No bad FP experiences at all.

It was a great trip but a very different experience this year due to having a first time guest (DN14) along with us. We have always had a set way of doing things at WDW, specific places we eat/shop, rides that we steal kisses on, etc... all non existent on this trip. I had to be in the mindset that this was not MY trip, but my niece's, knowing this might be the only chance she would ever go. So, both DH and I made sure it was memorable for her, and made a vow to make up double next year!!!

Currently planning mommy?son trip for F&W and MNSSHP in October and can barely wait to get back!!!!:yay:

Favorite moment: sitting out by the lake at Pop every morning watching the sun come up, with AoA in the background, knowing I was about to begin a magical day in my happy place :goodvibes

Sounds like an amazing, magical trip! Certainly a shelter in the storm of all the negativity I keep encountering in people's posts. We are determined that our trip in October will be just as magical, and it helps to see reports like this one! So glad you had such a wonderful time.

We are here now. Spent 5 days in the parks. We have had a magical time as well. No complaints here! I loved the Magic Bands and getting extra FP was easy. I was worried with all the negativity, but rest assured, if you are well prepared, your trip will be fantastic!

One month before our trip I vowed to not read any more negative reports. It really made a difference in my attitude as the days grew closer.

Thanks for the report! Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I am so glad to read a "happy" review. :)

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I do the crying thing when we first walk into MK. My kids used to laugh at me, but now that they're teenagers, they just smile and avert their eyes!

Sounds like a great trip :thumbsup2 We were there Memorial day week and we loved the magic bands and fastpass +. We also came across some grouchy and rude people. Both encounters were at MK . A mother was walking off from her 2 kids saying blank this vacation and the daughter said a few cuss words towards her mother  The other was when we were trying to find a place to stand for the fireworks. A CM told us to go under the rope and stand over there so we did. Well a guy behind us says in a really hateful tone " yeah stand right in front of us so we cant see" ! :( It kind of ruint our mood for the fireworks and really made me feel bad so we left and stood by the Tomorrowland Terrace bathroom. I know we waited to long to find a spot to stand for the fireworks and wont wait that long again. Other then that we had a great time ;)

Thanks for the report! I haven't gotten to try the Mine Train yet. Can't seem to catch a FastPass for it but looking forward to giving it a try!
