We split our stay 5 nights at POFQ5 at CR. POFQ was nice but I think I'm more of a deluxe girl. I absolutley loved The Contemporary Resorts. We had a north garden wing room with a lovely view of Bay Lake. The service was great. I loved the shops in the concourse. The food was wonderful. The pool slide was super fun. Loved the marina, those Sea Racers were fast and fun. The only thing I could have lived without were all the conventioners. Their talk of the real world was bit annoying. I learned to tune them out by day 2. I have lots of pictures I just need to get them uploaded. let me know if you have any ??'s

Here is the link to view my photos. Enjoy!!

I'm glad you had such a great time. I will be staying there for the first time this Oct. I can't wait to see your pictures :)

the BIG bathrooms are fabulous. We tried BC and the bathrooms are the same size as the mods.

Glad you had a nice time! We're headin' down there next month! Question about the pool(s), do you remember how deep the shallowest part was? My dd can stand in 3', 3.5' is over her head.

I've also seen a lot of questions posted lately about the condition of the North wing rooms. Is the North wing in decent shape? There are rumers flying around that it is to be torn down in another year or so so WDW can build another time share.

It's nice to see you had such a nice time at CR! We are thinking about going there next August (24 - 28)and I have been quoted a AAA rate of $207/night for garden/wing room. If you don't mind me asking, what type of rate did you get? I am trying to get my budget in order for next year and I was hoping that they will offer a better discount than AAA. I would like to book now and then keep my eyes open for a general room only rate in the future, but if this is as cheap as I can expect for CR the last week in August, I may have to try a different resort. Thank in advance for any advice!!

Now I know what people mean when they say once you have been bitten by the Deluxe bug. I stayed at AKL just a couple of weeks ago and I am hooked. I also ate dinner at OHANA GRILLE and lets just say I am staying at the Poly next year.

The only way I would stay at something other than deluxe is if it is a home away from home - for a larger party or if I really needed to save money.

I am already excited about next year - I have never stayed at a "monorail resort"!!!

The CR is great. I really love the monorail convenience. We've stayed there 3 or 4 times, I think that the pool is fairly shallow by the stairs, my younger DD7 is only 48 inches, she had no trouble standing. They also have life jackets for the guests that can't swim. Check with the marina. There is also a kiddie pool, really shallow, about a foot I'd guess. Plus the little jets on the ground that shoot up unexpectedly. HTH We're staying at the WL & Poly next month. I hope my girls enjoy those pools as much.

We stayed at the CR two weeks ago for the first time and I loved it!! Well, except for Charley causing us to lose our PS at Chef Mickey's and HDDR, that is. We also had a room in the North Wing, facing Bay Lake. It was a ground floor room, so we were a little nervous about the storm, but no problems. I didn't think the bldg. was in disrepair or run-down. But, I didn't think the Polynesian was either when we were there last year!! If you compare CR to, say, BWI, it will not measure up. BW is so much newer and brighter. But, I still feel that CR has a terrific charm. Loved the monorail going thru, loved being able to walk to MK or just a short ride by monorail to the TTC for the Epcot monorail. The shopping is the best of all the resort shops imho. The food offerings are good. Why, if I didn't own at BWV, I would be staying at the CR all the time now!!!

I hope I get everyone here...

The shallowest part of the pool I saw was 3 feet 6 inches all around the outside getting to about four feet in the middle areas. They do have life vests available for free so you might want to try that. I do not recall seeing a kiddie pool but I could be mistaken.

The wallpaper in the halls is a bit worn but thats it. the carpets are really clean which to me is more important. the room was great. It seemed so huge compared to POFQ. The bathromm was very roomy and well maintained. The tub is very deep which Iis wonderful for me because i love a good hot soak after a long days in the parks and spa is just not hot enough all the time to get my muscles relaxed.

I had an AP rate of $211 includeing tax for a waterview wing room. depending on the view $207 is pretty good. Again it's a great resort. I could stay there and never have to go to the parks and still have a great time!!

I'm trying to get the pix uploaded now but with DIS hosting down it's going to be a little tricky gotta find a free image host. I 've got almost 800 pix. Not all are so great but the CR ones are really good if do say so myself. :p

The Kiddie Pool was that teeny tiny area that was around the fountain in the slide pool. Not really much to it at all. I'm not surprised you missed it. They do, however have a little playground area wil soft rubber floor stuff like you find in the playareas at McDonalds, as well as a sand area.

Thanks for the pics. They are great. Can't wait for our upcoming stay. Glad you had a great time. It's really reassuring to hear someone enjoy the CR. Thanks for all of your info. One ?, is the garden view wing room the same as a standard wing room? I would like to request a north wing (we are booked for a standard wing), but I was confused if this was the same? Where you able to see MK from your room? Maybe that was 2 ?'s. Thanks again.

I was on the back side so I couldn't see MK but walking out in the morning it was right there. I imagine from the front side of the building you may be able to see MK in the room. I had a water view so I saw Bay Lake. I think a standard would be garden view(grounds) or parking lot. I think they call if variable.

I loved the pictures!!! Thanks for sharing them with us. I am looking forward to staying there for my first time in October.

After our first stay at the CR, it was our favorite resort:D When I ask my kids which resort they want to stay in , they always say the CR!!

Glad you had a good time....thanks for the great pics...didn't realize how cool the rooms are at CR definetly going to have to stay there sometime.
