We got back late Sat night and had a wonderful time. Went to pick up our pictures at Wal Mart and out of 5 rolls of film we may have 25 decent pictures. We didnt fly so I dont know what happend to the film.
We did three character meals so should have had some great pictures . All we eneded up with was a few from Crystal Palace. The worse part is my dd9 spent 75.00 disney dollars on scrap book material and theres not enough to work with. Most of what came out was Sea World. Not even one picture of Mickey.
Sorry, just had to vent Its gana be 4 or 5 years before we make another trip.

Photo memories are important to me as well, so I know it must be tough.

Maybe you and your daughter could find other people's photographs that remind you of your trip, print them off, and use the scrap book material to brighten it up. There are SO MANY photos of other people's visits, I'm sure you could really personalize it.

Just a suggestion.

I'm so sorry to hear this. When you say only a few came out, what happened to the rest, is it just dark or what? What kind of camera did you use? Was there an automatic flash? Gosh, so sorry.

I'm so sorry to hear about your pictures! I've had a few vacations where my pictures didn't turn out and I was upset too. I switched to a digital camera a few years ago. It's great, you get to see your picture right after you take it. That way you know what it looks like.

As far as not having enough items to scrapbook, you could use maps from the parks, your ticket, the mask kids make in Epcot, even one of the colored kids meals menus from one of the restaurants.

You might try taking them/the film to a different processor or film lab and see what they can do. I know developing can vary from one lab to another. Maybe someone can tell you what was wrong to prevent it from happening in the future as well.

This happened to my mom recently, and she was sick.

I am so sorry that happened to you.

I have a TON of pics on Ofoto and I can send you the link if you PM me. Your DD can use any of them that she'd like if she wants to.

:( Sorry your pictures didn't turn out. Maybe the film was defective? I would still let dd do her scrapbook and just work with what you have. Along with what others have suggested, she could journal on some of the pages about her favorite rides, characters, etc. Hope it all works out :D .

I feel terrible for you! That's my worst vacation nightmare!

I lost a disposable on Castaway Cay last November and I'm not sure DW has forgiven me yet!

On our vacations we have gotten into the habit of bringing two cameras, 35mm and digital, and giving each of the kids disposable cameras so if something happens to one camera, we have lots of back up. The quality of the kids' pictures is kind of spotty, but they always get some good shots too!

So sorry to hear you had problems, but if you want, PM me your address and I'll send you a couple CDs of pictures I took of Disney.

Maybe you can use some of them and fill your scrapbook that way.

send your negatives somewhere else. this happened to us once and motophoto said half our pix wouldnt come out and we mailed the negatives to kodak and everything came out. its worth a try

I know this isn't quite the same, but I took a ton of pictures when I went to Las Vegas several years ago. It was my first (and only so far) trip there. Well, my film got stuck in my new camera (guess it was a cheap camera...my dad bought it for me) and I lost all my pictures. I'm still not over it. :sad2:

The camera is a 40.00 polaroid with a zoom. It was the first roll that most turned out. The negatives are mostly blank or blury. I did change the battreies one time with film in so that could account for one roll I guess. I really think it was bad film although it was new.
We do have a little video. Thank Goodness this was my ds 16month first trip.
Thanks for all the responses all the people here are wonderful.
We didnt take the digital camera because we dont have a laptop and our printer is broken so printing out pictures isnt possible right now either.
If anyone has any extra pictures they are willing to mail that would be wonderful. we are missing the fab 5 , snow white, areil, sleeping beauty, daisy, chip, dale , darling wendy. Piglet and tigger are very blury. im sure there are many others but that the autographs that I dont have pictures to go with.
If you can help email at jaxnbanditfan@aol.com

Thanks

Not sure if this is done everywhere but you mentioned you do have some video so heres another idea... I actually lost my sons 1st year birthday photos so I took our video to a photo store and they had me watch the video on a tv and then they freeze frame and print a pictue from it. It was kind of expensive, I think about
a dollar per print but definitely worth it. Good Luck!

I'm so upset now! I just picked up my pictures from DD's first trip and they are nothing like I expected! Some are very dark, not in dark places. Most of them are blurry. The shots on the disk are off, they chopped of DD's head w/ Goofy, but I know it's on the negative, because it's on the print I got! I even paid the extra $5 each roll for disks! I just went back to CVS and talked to the photo guy forever and he tried to do the disks again, but basically they can't/won't do anything. I think I am going to try to take them somewhere else and see how they do. They guy at CVS was really nice and seemed to know what he was doing, but I guess I need to go to a specialty shop.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss! I love taking pictures and doing my scrapbooks so I know what you must be feeling! That's why I got my digital, nothing like it. Even if you don't have a lap top if you get a big enough memory card you'd be surprised how many pics you can take. What I did was take a lot of pictures and at night I would just delete the ones I really didn't like and have room for more pics the next day. I also bought additional cards. I took 2 128mb cards and 2 waterproof disposables with me to Disneyland and wound up with 280 pics. Instead of printing them out myself I just took them to Walmart and had them print them out and I'm still working on my book.

The same thing happened to us on our honeymoon trip. We had the film place redo the pictures (at no cost) and only ended up with a few more that looked decent.

This past trip we took a digital camera and have over 500 pics. Let me know if there's anything specifically that you're looking for. I'd be more than happy to send you any that you'd like, just let me know what you're looking for.

You can email me at kandmwedding@hotmail.com

I'm sorry about your picture's,me being sorry doesn't replace them but I did want you know I do feel bad it happened to us one year and we were so upset.:(

I am so sorry. Getting my pictures develped and putting them in the album was always one of the ways that I dealt with the post Disney Blues. I am not sure how I would have handled it if they would not have come out.

Last year we finally upgraded to a Digital and that was wonderful. Each night being able to look at the day's pictures, looking at them all on the way home, being able to save them on the computer in slideshow - just great. We also don't print them ourselves. We have a HP Photsmart printer, but I have found when trying to print that many pictures, it is cheaper and much quicker to bring them to Walmart and let them print the pictures. I use my printer for double prints, enlargements, or small printings.

Good luck with getting other pictures or with getting your negatives looked at by someone else.

I'm sorry for what happened. I am an avid scrapbooker so pictures are very important. You can presearve your memories other ways. Did you get postcards? I take tons of pictures but I still use postcards. They are great. Use them and journal about your experience. Believe me, when you look back it will still bring you great memories. And like someone said, use all the momentoes and you still have some pictures. You can try to bring the negative somewhere else and see what happens and like someone else suggested, print pictures from the video. Good luck and don't forget to journal.

Sometimes what happens to Disney photos is the heat and humidity get to them.

Also you take your camera inside an attraction where it is very cool due to the air conditioning. Then you go out in the heat and the lense fogs over. If you do not clean the lense before you take a photo, they come out blurry.

Also heat will really damage unused film.

Did you leave the camera/film in the car at any time? Heat can cause 35 mm film to deteriorate very quickly. If you are taking a lot of it on a long trip in a hot climate, it's best to carry it in something insulated to protect it from heat.
