My DD and I arrived on Friday Dec 11th and left on Wed Dec 16th. Overall I did find it busier than the last time we were there in December, but that was 2006 so I knew it would be a bit busier. I do not use any guides for crowds, but have read on the DIS that people have been finding it very busy and some have compared it to the summer. I personally do not think it was that bad. There were moments when I felt a bit crowded, but overall that was not the case.
Our biggest wait time was on Sunday for Soarin and that was 55 minutes. We did not have FP for it due to ADRs in the WS and the Kim Possible Mission. I knew we would have a wait, but I was prepared for it. We got on line at 5pm, which was late, but the ride was as wonderful as ever.
The other longish wait was on Friday night for TSM at DHS. We arrived at DHS for an ADR at 4pm and then had Fantasmic. I knew we had no chance of getting a Fast Pass for TSM so we waited after Fantasmic. It was so worth it! What a wonderful ride!! I would certainly FastPass it if I could and then go on the stand by line, but even having to wait was not a bother since the que is so unique.
The temps were not nice, for me at least. It was HOT. Mid to high 80's from Saturday until yesterday. It was yucky hot,. but supposed to cool down soon. The pool was our friend at night.
Bring a poncho for Fantasmic, just in case. The breeze/wind was blowing the wrong way and whenever the water was up we got a nice mist on us. It got a bit annoying as my glasses would be covered in mist!! I pulled out the ponchos to keep us dry, but could not cover my face!! Still, very worth it. What a wonderful show.
Crowds were not that bad at any point. All of our ADRs were on time and we had not wait for seats. Busses were fairly fast. The longest we waited for any bus at a park was maybe ten minutes and less than that at the POFQ.
The food was great everywhere we ate. We ate at Hollywood and Vine in DHS, Crystal Palace in MK, O'Hana at the Poly and Garden Grill in Epcot. All great. I really enjoyed my food. We also ate lunch at the castle and that was fantastic to. Character interaction was a bit off there though. We even got a bit of attitude from Jasmine of all people! But we had a lovely server who was attentive and prompt. I love eating at the Castle.
Fantsyland was busy, but not crazy. On Saturday and Tuesday we did Dumbo in mid day twice and the wait was never longer then 15 minutes. Teacups was way less and a great way to cool off.
We also met some truly wonderful people. This time it was just my DD and I and it was nice to find some adults to chat with who share my love of Disney.
