11 days at POP. 60's section by the Play Do. Loved it, but felt sorry for folks at 80s and 90s, those were way far.
Mousekeeping was ok not great.
Food Court was great, very manageable even at peak times, The Icee machines were all working and a blast! ant questions feel free to ask...

Were you at rope drop at AK? How much of the line went to EE and how much to Safari? Were you able to get on both, or FP within a reasonable time?

Were you able to get on Soarin' at Epcot?

Did you go to either the pool bar or Classic Concoctions which is the indoor bar/lounge? What time were they opened til?

MS: We were not at rope drop. De did the evening magic hours there. Safari is not available at night so everyone went to EE. And they stop it!! Some mechanical problem. A lot of people then part to Dinosaur. and when EE was operating again it was a walk in the park. Sons were two times in a row without wait. I just did the first one:scared1: .

Daddy: I did not went to neither but the pool bar closed like at 2am a couple of nights. The indoor one opens from 6 to midnight. I just notice it open once tough, and there was nobody there, just the barman.

We are there (POP) in 16 days but we are tent. assigned to the 80's building....sounds like I wont like it......But I dont think I can change now, I have ticked them off by calling and making special requests....
First I told them we needed connecting rooms, they said "Maybe",
then I asked to be pool side in 80's section,,,,they got a little snippy about it...and said "we cant guarantee connecting rooms because you only have 2 kids", I told them if we dont have connecting rooms we walk outta there!!!!!
We will wait and see what I get!!!

Just so you are prepared, connecting rooms are only a guarantee if you only have one adult in your group. Hopefully you will get them, but if truly want them I would not request anything else.

Just curious, how do you know you are "tentatively assigned to the 80s section" I have read other posts where people seem to know what area they are going to be in and I am clueless. Am I missing something?

Sounds as if we were there at the same time. Just back from POP at Playdough July 9-19th. Room 4112 right on the corner by the food court and main pool. Longest walk was 30 seconds to the ice machine.

Best trip of our lives! I loved everything about it.

We were at Rope Drop Everyday. First on EE, but the FP works great, we used it later. Used FP for Safari. Got on around 11:00 and it was our best ride ever. Saw everththing. Did not ride dinosaur.

First on Soarin one day. The lines are really long for that. by 11, it was a two hour wait. We rode once first then FP later in the day.

Crowds were fine if you go early and have at least a tentative plan. We napped and swam every afternoon, then went to the parks after our TS dinner.

Frozen cokes were delish! Loved them as much as the kids did. Everyone was friendly and polite.

Can't wait to go back. It was well worth the preferred price. It was 'the' room I would have chosen if they had allowed me to. I faxed a request 5 days before we left that was very polite and requested a first floor room ( I have Asthma) and pool side would be a wonderful treat for a couple of kids from Indiana. I checked in early (like 7:000 am) and was ecstatic (as you can tell from my jabbering).

Hope everyone has as magical a vacation as we did!

How far would you consider far?
Because my DS wants to stay in the 80s section
on a future trip, is it really that far?
We have stayed at CSR in the past and did not think
the grounds were very difficult to walk the whole resort.:cool1:

OP...what about the cleanliness of POP itself. I know Disney is excellent in their upkeep but I was just a little worried since I stayed at what I thought was a decent hotel this weekend (not a disney hotel...it received nice reviews online) and when I got in the room I was really disappointed - it fellt yucky. I am NOT a hotel snob.....I just need a tiny bit of reassurance that the POP hotel rooms feel clean. Afterall it does become a home away from home when you are staying at Disney and I hate that feeling that the carpet is dirty, etc. I stayed at CSR last year and thought it was perfect. I am guessing I will have the same experience with POP....just looking for a little reassurance. Thanks in advance!!! Glad you had a blast...can't wait for those icee machines in September!!

80s section isn't so bad once you figure out the paths. I found it was easier cutting through the front building and going around the front sort of to get to the food court. Trust me - at 7 month pregnant and usually carrying a toddler, I was counting steps.:rotfl2:

Besides, the 80s section and pool area was IMO a lot calmer than the busy Hippy Dippy pool in the 60s section.

We leave for Pop (first time in a Value) in 11 days, and I'm so glad to hear the frozen coke machines are working. It seemed like everyone before this was complaining that they had been broken!

Glad you had a great trip!

we were there at the same time. 7th-18 july. and we were in 4365, so pretty close. and "my pool chairs" were by your room so...

The 80s is not realllllly far, just that me staying in 60s and one day wondering there i said uff were lucky in the 60s. and if you cut trough the parking is closer but uglier. Is way easier than say Riverside that is really spread.

juli
100% 80s pool is way calmer than 60s, btw is calmer than 50s also. That Hippy Dippy was always crowded even after midnight and sometimes raining. OH and those spraying flowers were cold cold.

and we did not find the rooms to be small. And we did not hear the people in the next room either. altough maybe they heard us, :happytv:
